A new crest in 6 weeks?? Doesn't seem a lot of time at all, although the current one looks like it was designed during a coffee break.

We're not really naive about this are we? They've already designed the emblems and the "fan consultation" is lip service before putting them to a vote.

People will shout "conspiraceeee" at me but I don't believe a design consultancy would take on a job like this with a seven day predefined turnaround time.

At best, around five badges will have been already drawn up, and a sixth will be splurged together based on a suggestion of three or four completed questionnaires that they'll trumpet as "listening to the fans".

All that said, I'm not bothered in the slightest how they do it as long as the badge selected isn't a trainwreck again.

The ones with the laurels would be a my pick linked earlier. The 84/85 badge being my ideal, love that badge.

In an age of social media overkill you'll still get dissenting voices no doubt when the new one is finalised but surely they must be able to come up with a design that the majority of the fanbase will think is sound. Looks like they're going about it in the right way this time anyway.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, the actual design process - where multiple designs will be created - is between 15th September and 23rd September.

One week? Why is this so rushed?

The wreaths look out of place to me mate. Otherwise top effort (if you designed it).

My preference is still the brilliant design a few pages back that <goes to find it>

Brilliant.

The problem with this one is that it has E.F.C when it should be Everton, and the lack of the motto.

I agree with the club that the word "Everton" has to be on the crest in some form.

Excellent stuff from the club, no other club the size of ours would do something like this. Time to stop whinging about the new badge and focus on getting the re-design right

Of all the badges I've seen this is hands down the best:

I personally believe the wreaths are more important than the date; 1878 is a very recent addition to the badge and you don't see dates on other clubs' badges - I can't think of any in fact. The wreaths are as historic as nil satis, they have to be on any new badge IMO

True.

I wonder if the designer of that logo could update it with "Everton" in there. Seems a bit difficult to fit in seeing as it's all rounded on the badge. Love it, though. Everton been put to shame here with the whole malarky.

Just tweak the design of the laurels, maybe add nsno, or the full motto below this and that would do me.

We don't really need the shield.
