They did it without fuss for 93 years. Why everyone thinks they have to have input on this very simple task is beyond me.

It's a different age. No social media campaigns to deal with. We're much more connected to the club now, and them to us.

See that design on the previous page? That'll do. If they printed that on everything I'd guarantee the vast majority would accept it.

I know I wouldn't.

It's THAT simple.

It's not.

It's not.

Dont know mate. It just seems like they screwed up getting too clever by half with the one we're lumped with now, and now they're going round the houses looking to correct a mistake that is very easy to rectify. It's what happens when PR departments are getting a chasing. Less about common sense now than arse saving.

I just don't think it's an easy fix - and I think they are doing exactly the right thing, albeit later than they should have.

That's not to say I don't have reservations...

I am worried about the talent at Kenyon Fraser - that 'portfolio' is really underwhelming. I saw this yesterday, and I hope we get something equally as good... but Palace have the advantage of a freakin' eagle on their badge. How sexy can we make Price Rupert's tower, really?

Dave,

have a look at the photo on the article here:

Echo

Look at the logo on the scarfs vs the logo on the shirt. While the one on the scarfs is proportionally slightly bigger, you can still see what they are trying to achieve. Its legible, distinctive and easily identifiable to a third part. Now look at the shirts. Its just a blur, its illegible and the much vaunted elements like the motto are irrelevant because they can't be seen. And this is the environment where a motto is used, or a similar situation where its scaled down and used on a document. Most of the examples being used are being discussed at x10 the size they will be used, which is pointless.

Now I don't necessarily like the new crest, but I do entirely understand what they are trying to achieve.

The wreaths look out of place to me mate. Otherwise top effort (if you designed it).

My preference is still the brilliant design a few pages back that <goes to find it>

This:

Brilliant.
I'd be far happier with something like this. Here's my bastardised versions from when the monstrosity first appeared:

(sorry to have to break it up... post count too low!
Right one's a bit too Chelski for my liking now though.
