It looks stupidly amateurish and quite ridiculous, plus NSNO has been dropped. All in all, a very apt crest for Everton in the 21st century.

I'm just waiting for the legal letters with regards to displaying the Crest to come flying in FFS

GOD didn't make a profit by displaying the crest and isn't a beneficiary in any event. And I thought "the filing form; with the crest" to the official is a public record? It will be very harsh for the club to file a legal letter to GOD forum...

The response has been one of universal disdain. They won't be angry about it but that matters. Perception of the brand matters.

If they're still doing it in a weeks time then I'd be surprised. You're a young 'un. How many folks chunter away every time Facebook do something new? Then a week later they've forgotten what the old site even looked like.

If the supporters won't go to kirkby, then the spirit of kirkby will be brought to them...

Why the surprise. This is Bill's club, not yours...

I suppose Arsenal have a similar status to us and their badge looks great even though it's kept very few of the original elements. Design-wise it's so much better than our new one though. I suppose it's because Everton Creative Manager Nigel Payne probably had a large hand in ours, whereas the Gunners most likely used an expensive design agency.

Sounds like a soundbite right out of the EVERTON PR 101 guidebook.

It does not look cheap. There is a difference between looking cheap and being simple.

When a product is cheap to make it makes it more attractive/profitable for other companies to use the badge. of course they will have to pay royalties for this.

Also even though there is no direct pay off. It is much easier for illegal counterfeiting in countries like Thailand and China, i know the club don't get money for this but the more Everton is seen/branded around the world the better.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying this is the intention of this badge but I can see it happening.

I do understand the need for a new badge but it seems like it's been done inhouse and on the cheap by marketing people rather than creatives.
