Umm

I was one of the 89.5% who was happy with the appointment. The fact he wasn't Big Sam was a huge selling point.

All the ones crying about Nunos style of play and saying we should have got Galtier

Can you tell me his style of play then? Bunch of absolute jokers.
If he's just beaten PSG into 2nd place in the French League, then you could call his style of play, both effective and successful.
So what was Ancelottis style then? Silvas? Allardyce? Koeman?, not effective or successful.

Wonder if the sticking point is the size of his backroom team?

I don't expect it, but it would be refreshing if NES didn't merely agree to the retention of Ferguson & Kelly, in preference to his own staff.

I like the idea of some continuity, but continuity hasn't served us well in recent years.

We should have one assistant, and not two.

Someone needs to pluck up the courage to tell Dunc if he's not going to be assistant anymore... there aren't going to be people lining up to do that in a hurry.

…yep, I don’t mind him bringing those he relies on, often you’re only as good as the people who work for you.

I have no idea of Ferguson’s worth as a coach, but I think his position as ‘Mr Everton’ is too romantic & I’d actually see it as a good sign if NES doesn’t want him involved.

It would be the best thing for Ferguson, and potentially for us. He needs to go elsewhere and chart his own course. I think the new manager should be capable of making his own assessment. If he wants Ferguson, he'll get him obviously, but it shouldn't be a given.

Apart from the top 3...Pep, Klopp, Tuchal and some continental CL regulars, who have either just moved or arent going anywhere...oh also Conte and Zinedine.
It's an ordinary field to select from.
Aside from Conte, none are on the Poll.

it would benefit fergusons ambition to be everton manager in the future if he was cut loose and got an actual managers job somewhere else.
see what hes made of and in 12-18 months when nuno leaves he could be in contention.

For what it's worth, I think you're right. I also think Ferguson probably needed the post-Ancelotti transition to demonstrate to him that he needs to go elsewhere to prove himself if he ever wants the job.
