But it's so easy for us to say this and then get angry when it doesn't happen. We don't know whether the compensation is extortionate, whether they actually want the job, whether they can speak English (Gallardo can't by all accounts), whether they have all sorts of crazy demands, whether other clubs already have agreements with them etc etc. They may have been approached and instantly said no. So what should the club do then after the flavour of the month choices are non starters?

By flavour of the month, do you mean Nuno?

Gallardo is the most successful manager in South America and Amorim isnt exactly "flavour of the month"....

Bit lost on that.

Those two are good long term options if they agree to join. There would be others like that as well.

If not then Brands should decide the style of play and formation he wants the club to move forward using and hire a coach who plays it.

Is Nuno flavour of the month right now?

A season or two ago maybe but not now. He is deemed as being crap now for some reason.

I am really surprised Niko Kovač hasn't had mention the former Croatia and Bayern manager who seems to be doing really well at Monaco

Obviously I don't mean Nuno. How can he be flavour of the month if most fans don't want him?

I'm talking about Gallardo and Amorim who the vast majority of Evertonians know little about yet are clamouring for. They reek of Vitor Pereira for me.

And you've completely missed my point. They are good long term options IF they want to come and IF we can get them and are still risks especially if they can't even communicate in English. If we can't, then you can't criticise the club for them not coming. It's just the way it is.

This is the club wanting to make sure they dont get caught on the hop in the final furlong like Palace were by Mendes.

I'd guess it'll be Nuno, but I wouldn't bank on it.

70% likely IMO.

For me, if James is to stay then he has to play behind the striker. No point asking him to pick the ball up 60 yards from goal.

Personally think he has to play on the right if he's going to stay. We can't afford to play with a traditional no.10/second striker and he isn't mobile enough to play as an attacking midfielder in a 3 in the premier league. The no.10 role doesn't really work for me anymore. You need flexible forwards who can play across the front line.

It's a fair point but if we had 40 managers actively contact us and try to come to us and the best one out of those was Nuno we are in a WORLD of trouble.

Youre comparing Vitor Pereira with Gallardo and Amorim? Whats the correlation here?

Nuno is the media flavour of the month type and has been a favourite of theirs for a while now. Its totally bizarre.

Im not criticising the club for managers rejecting them -- theres no evidence of this by the way -- im criticising them for a total failure to find a manager globally and instead seemingly approaching incompetent to middling managers such as Nuno.

I cant think of many things worse than that result.
