When Carlo was run out of town by Napoli I thought it was hard to fathom. Not any more.

Nice enough feller and a legend as a manager, but he was utterly taking the piss here.

I blame Moshiri rather than him though. We needed a vibrant manager with new ideas and he hands us yesterday's man.
Christ Dave, you don't half carry a chip on your shoulder... lol

You were sound with Ancelotti just a few short weeks ago?

Dont understand that statement. What is highlighted is that his Wolves-team is the second lowest pressing team in Europe! Behind only Newcastle!

This season, yes. The point is with a less injury stricken squad they pressed a lot more in previous seasons.

Seems to me like the club will just drag it out so it looks like they’ve put extensive work into finding the right candidate given the current reaction of fans to the potential Nuno appointment has been that of major underwhelm.

It’s just a matter of when it’s announced now for me.
Agree with your last sentence, because a) I more believe Dominic King than the Echo
b) Look at Tottenham even their manager has been days coming so it takes time
c) Maybe EFC have told the Echo this as a bit of bargaining power against camp Nuno.
d) the rumours about the Brazilian from Portugal with Mendes involved

Complete opposite. Hire him and you’re guaranteed to be needing a new manager within the next couple of seasons
2006Arezzo
2007Arezzo
2007–2009Bari
2009–2010Atalanta
2010–2011Siena
2011–2014Juventus
2014–2016Italy
2016–2018Chelsea
2019–2021Inter Milan

Conte is basically like Carlo in his prime, goes to elite clubs and gets results for 2/3 years and moves onto the next challenge.

Not what we need at all, though a fantastic manager, I wish Everton were in the position to welcome an elite manager and have 2/3 years going for the league.

This is what we are ALL like, not personal to you, but why do any of us think someone would leave the likes of Monaco on the med, being successful to come to the dour mid-table club on the north west of the uk? I think we all need a bit of a wake up call and be a bit more realistic on who we’ll get.
How much is he paid there and what is their wage bill? I appreciate it's probably tax free.
But that's obviously the one reason he'd move.

who was the guest?
literally the only way to watch football for the last year has been on telly so what would be the point in having someone on that hasnt watched football in over a year!
It was one of his usual 2 co-hosts.i believe it was the one who either lives in the Channel Islands or maybe it's France?

How can you not have a telly these days?
VERY interesting that Galtier to Nice hasn't been confirmed yet...
Possibly because he's still contracted to Lille and they're asking around 40m Euros for him.

Youre comparing Vitor Pereira with Gallardo and Amorim? Whats the correlation here?

Nuno is the media flavour of the month type and has been a favourite of theirs for a while now. Its totally bizarre.

Im not criticising the club for managers rejecting them -- theres no evidence of this by the way -- im criticising them for a total failure to find a manager globally and instead seemingly approaching incompetent to middling managers such as Nuno.

I cant think of many things worse than that result.
I'll leave you to work that out.

You're being really obtuse about the flavour of the month phrase - it's quite clearly FOTM for the fans as we are discussing this in the context of a fans forum. Nuno by no means fits that description.

So you want some unknown quantity from Ulan Bator do you? So strange this kind of criticism. They have their list based on many criteria and it gets whittled down. It may have started with the fancy dans that you're pining for but for whatever reason, they weren't viable. This unfortunately leaves your line of criticism floundering because they did exactly what you wanted them to do. What then? Kidnap and torture to make Gallardo the next boss or you'll claim they've failed?

Oh and I, and many others, would disagree with your fundamental claim that Nuno is incompetent, he's far from that, so once again, your argument crumbles.

Possibly because he's still contracted to Lille and they're asking around 40m Euros for him.
Also interesting is that Lille's president was seemingly bigging him up for the Everton job last week. Perhaps the delay is down to them seeing if any serious talks transpire before Nice step in again?

It's a fair point but if we had 40 managers actively contact us and try to come to us and the best one out of those was Nuno we are in a WORLD of trouble.
That's where we are though. It's an unfortunate reality.

Not only are we not the most attractive we are a very, very difficult nut to crack. A lot of managers know this and won't risk their reputation and why should they?

Everton failures going on to manage The Netherlands, Manchester United, Belgium, Barcelona and Real Madrid doesn’t look too bad does it?

Maybe we are a tough nut to crack because are problems are upstairs and cascade down to the player level.
