I am really surprised Niko Kovač hasn't had mention the former Croatia and Bayern manager who seems to be doing really well at Monaco
I mentioned him, was shot down because "Bayern players HATED him" as if that should be a valid disqualifier.

Let's not mention he did a cup double with them, got Frankfurt to the CL for the first time in 20 years and took Monaco from 10th to 3rd with their biggest addition being Kevin Volland.

This is what we are ALL like, not personal to you, but why do any of us think someone would leave the likes of Monaco on the med, being successful to come to the dour mid-table club on the north west of the uk? I think we all need a bit of a wake up call and be a bit more realistic on who we’ll get.

By all accounts the Bayern players didn't particularly like Carlo ,Kovač for me is definitely worth sounding out

Personally think he has to play on the right if he's going to stay. We can't afford to play with a traditional no.10/second striker and he isn't mobile enough to play as an attacking midfielder in a 3 in the premier league. The no.10 role doesn't really work for me anymore. You need flexible forwards who can play across the front line.

I think no.10 - or a James / Siggy type no.10 - could only work if you have a 5-3-2 and they are one of the 3
but for that you need really mobile wing backs, a midfield 2 who can pass forward and tackle, and at least one of the back 3 who can step into midfield . Then the no.10 has 4 targets - two strikers, and two wing backs.
Its nice talking about tactics for no reason

When Carlo was run out of town by Napoli I thought it was hard to fathom. Not any more.

Nice enough feller and a legend as a manager, but he was utterly taking the piss here.

I blame Moshiri rather than him though. We needed a vibrant manager with new ideas and he hands us yesterday's man.

Obviously without knowing who we are interviewing at this moment, we should be approaching as many decent managers we can if they turn us down fair enough move on

Think James is someone you build a team around rather than try to shoehorn into a formation that doesn’t suit him. Not much point in doing that though if he can only play once a month!
