One thing I will say is this;

I don't give a single solitary crap about how aesthetically pleasing the football is

All I want is for us to have a winning mentality

We can snide everyone in 1-0 wins for all I care

My issue with Allardyce wasn't that the football was turgid, but rather that we would immediately fold when faced with a good team

If we play crap football every week but have the right mentality and win games then I'm all on board

We can worry about passing in nice triangles when we're actually competing. First and foremost we need to get the basics right

You can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat

We need new footballers not to to teach the ones as have “basics”

Football has evolved now.

Nottingham Forest came up ahd won the league, then two European cups.

When did a team last get promoted, then win the league? Qualify for Champions League?

Duncan can be kept around the club, but never, ever as manager.
I understand what you say but I disagree.

We've had Koeman and Carlo and neither could use their will to change things at the club (both were recognised by biggest clubs in Europe as credible); ditto Martinez who picked up the Belgium job. I just don't see another manager in the same mould making an impact.

Having a man with a real affinity to the club would mean a lot to supports and it might just work - why should Arteta, Gerrard be any more likely to be successful than Duncan?

Two decades ago when only Arsenal, United and Newcastle had proper grounds it may have made that difference. I don't think it does now. Has it done anything for Spurs or West Ham?
Arsenal, Newcastle and United have/had nothing around the land their grounds are on, Arsenal turned Highbury into property. Goodison has a school, housing and shops around it, it's just not doable or in the club's nature to destroy that to spruce up a near 130 year old stadium. That's for another thread anyway

I think Ferguson’s volleying them at half time wouldn’t last the season

Matty you were telling us all today to stop listening to lies and Carlo was staying. Maybe you don’t really know a lot about football.

We are not a big club, we are not relevant, sick of people trying to argue we are. We have a big history which is extremely dusty now.
Nymzee we need one of your super heroes to pull us out of this mess.Any ideas who
I text Gary Megson but he’s yet to reply.
Don Megson did well for us a long time ago.

Rather than making an irrational and quick announcement, just see which managers actually put their hands up with a motivationbto manage Everton.

Otherwise give Dunc a go for a full season. He can't go any worse than 10th again can he? Anyone at the club or in this delusional fan base expecting us to seriously challenge for top 6 next season needs a check-up.

Brands just needs to focus on getting 3-4 young, hungry players in like Max Aarons. No need to target any high profile discard from foreign league.

In all honesty, the more i think about it, the less arsed I am in him leaving. Granted we had a couple of good results against teams we previously didn't turn up against, however our home form against some shocking sides were as bad as i can remember.

Is it a great loss in the grand scheme of things...probably not, players were coasting on the nicey softly approach and that was not going to be changing anytime soon.

As for who to get in, honestly would not have a clue. I am not up on my hipster European Managers and as for Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche, David Moyes, i would rather shove 10 pounds worth of 50 pence pieces up my foreskin.

That’s one of the things that WAS encouraging about Carlo for a bit last year was, after the initial bounce, he identified the need to go back to meat and potatoes stuff and close out tight wins to get points on the board. Then when we did get some points, however, we did that annoying thing repeatedly where we thought we were better at home than we are and got snotted by a load of garbage.

Whoever comes in needs to recognise our limits as a squad and polish the life out of that turd while beavering away with Marcel in the background to overcome our many, many weaknesses.
