It speaks volumes about who writes for the Athletic!

It's really weird to have a pop at who is in the boardroom over something that is idle speculation from a random website about who we are looking at to replace one of the most successful managers to ever play the game who said boardroom also employed.
I do like the Athletic lads, but Patrick Boyland's "we're lead to believe," after every statement on their pod rubs me up the wrong way. The implication being that there's a shadowy figure high-up in the Everton hierarchy feeding them solid gold info, where it's just as likely to be Jimmy the kit man.

I can't help but feel like falling back to a Potter, Moyes OR Howe type will just make us look weak and hopelessly unattractive to quality players that can help this club move above this repetitive cycle that we are stuck in. Moshiri needs to swing big again. I say go all out for Conte.
If you look at the Inter team Conte left due to lack of investment they had Rom, Lautaro and Sanchez up front.
Eirksen, Vidal, Barella, Sensi, in midfield.
Seriously none of our players would get near their A team.
He'd be a great manager but we'd need to be going on a full on Man Cityesque Usmasplurge for him to consider it.

Hopefully we will and I prefer to be optimistic.

Dom King was on Talksport earlier and mentioned Howe mainly
Again he’s probably close to Bill. And we all know how his mind works. Bring in somebody small time and you save on wages and how much budget you need to give them.

Somebody needs to tell Dom, bill doesn’t make the decisions anymore

Unfortunately there is as much chance of me being appointed the next manager as us winning the league next season. We need a longer term manager right now. Not even Conte can get us competitive inside a season - we are that bad.

all this we need stability is a load of shieeee

we need a manager a GOOD one and let him do his thing

What we need is somebody who can build a team that actually gives a toss, Moyes can definitely do that, and as much as I don’t like it we haven’t been anywhere near the team we were when he was here. I thought he was finished but has done some very good work with West Ham. I’m not sure if he’d take it or if we’d even offer it.
I’d like to employ him and on his first game at Goodison announce his sacking.
Then we could boo him off the pitch to atone for that nauseous handclapping send off we gave the won nothing , scheming , disloyal , bollyeyed, horrible rat-snake.
( Its a definite no from me by the way).

Well a manager deemed good enough for the biggest club in the world but not little old Ev has just left, so Eddie is probably the level we deserve
Do you get upset easily pal?
Who said Ancelotti wasn’t good enough for Everton?
And even if somebody has written that, do you honestly take their comments seriously?

I've quickly come to the realisation that we need to stop going after these elite level coaches who are adept at going in to top clubs with excellent squads and sustaining success. We need a manger to BUILD a top level squad over a period of time.

Normally I would agree with you, but we are becoming a joke club. Since Moshiri took over we've had Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce, Silva, Ancellotti, plus caretakers and now another new boss. That's 6 permanent bosses plus caretakers in under 6 years. It's a complete mess and makes us look like a shambles.

I don't think we could attract Conte and I don't think he'd be interested because there is virtually no chance of making this team a title contender inside 2 years.

How do we build anything when we have this sort of turnaround of managers. Our good players will lose faith and ask to leave and our poorer players will continue to get more chances. We need a long term manager so it needs to be the right appointment.
