Steve Bruce is very underrated...he has done an incredible job at Newcastle in difficult circumstances...

And humble. If benitez was an ice cream he'd lick himself to death. Prob go on like he was doing us the favour. They were also just as dour under him. And who can forget the small club jibe.
Nah. Never warmed to him.

Pochettino would be the ideal one. A good blend of big name and fitting the "project". Its a pipe dream though.

After that I'm struggling. None of the realistic candidates fill me with excitement. I'm hoping a name comes out of left field over the next couple of days.

Baines..

Don't get some of the Big Dunc shouts. Love the guy on the pitch but he has been under how many failed managers recently. Also considering he hasn't been able to get the players going being part of the management setup, why do we think he would be able to do it now as the coach.

Normally I would agree with you, but we are becoming a joke club. Since Moshiri took over we've had Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce, Silva, Ancellotti, plus caretakers and now another new boss. That's 6 permanent bosses plus caretakers in under 6 years. It's a complete mess and makes us look like a shambles.

I don't think we could attract Conte and I don't think he'd be interested because there is virtually no chance of making this team a title contender inside 2 years.

How do we build anything when we have this sort of turnaround of managers. Our good players will lose faith and ask to leave and our poorer players will continue to get more chances. We need a long term manager so it needs to be the right appointment.

Carlo leaving has set us back basically

He showed promise in his short run. Also, if he got it on an ongoing interim basis we could replace him without as much upheaval as if we brought in someone from outside.

Its miles wrong. Do you not think its really unfair to have a pop at the board (or anyone really) based on an online rumour with no real basis in reality?
No. For one we were all set to appointment Moyes prior to Carlo coming in, so targets of that ilk do not have "no basis in reality". It's also your opinion that the rumoured shortlist is completely wide of the mark.
