You have to bear in mind as well, a lot of older fans don't use twitter and to a degree these forums (though this forum is certainly a better barometer than twitter for a broader swathe).
I think of my dad and he still consumes football the way he's always done, and really doesn't spend copious amounts of time looking through the internet and youtube for other teams and other managers. He will watch Sky sports news, Football focus, have a read of the Mirror (and previously the Echo when he lived up that way) and get his info that way. Probably still looks at the club website.
He was quite in favour of Nuno. He knows who he is, is aware of him and within his paradigm that is being quite "exotic" for his tastes. That's how he will do it, he will look at managers in the PL, maybe Scotland and make a call.
I don't know how this demographic will view Benitez, probably really badly but they will know him. He didn't know any of the names I put to him, but then probably 20 years ago, before the internet and the like I wouldn't have either.
When we put a 'middle of the road' option, that did take a big chunk from the previous 'Yes'
Benitez was only 2nd to Rangnick from all the options we've posed in a lot of polls since Ancelotti left.
Agree with the banners or not I’m sure we can all congratulate @matty1878 on his spelling.

A very good point. At a work related conference Robert Cuffe, the BBC statistician, was speaking to us and making the valid point that Twitter and social media etc tend to attract extreme ends of the spectrum of opinion and the vast majority of people are somewhere in the middle ground on most things. You have to bear in mind as well, a lot of older fans don't use twitter and to a degree these forums (though this forum is certainly a better barometer than twitter for a broader swathe).

The only one forced out by fan opinion may have been Allyrdyce, the others were just not performing.Benitez has alway struck me as an arrogant and nasty man - which is why he would have no shame in walking thorugh Goodison to take charge of the club if allowed.
We can only hope that the meddler comes to his senses and listens to the fans.
As for your comment about the board 'not worrying' about fan unrest - the fans forced out Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce, and Silva - where I would suggest at least 3 of those would have been kept on longer had the fans not been up in arms.
All of that is possibly true but on the flip side and playing devil's advocate ( and let me make it clear I despise Benitez and find it shocking that Moshiri would even consider him) if, just if , he got the job and did well raising his own profile at the same time his local ties might persuade him against jumping ship if a super yacht like PSG etc came calling.I think it’s a legitimate concern to be honest. We have no way of knowing what’s going in the boardroom so we go off reports. Many of the reports mention that he would like the job because he lives locally. Obviously they might not be true, but what else have we got to go on? There’s definitely a bit of a ‘marriage of convenience’ vibe to the whole thing, with him being out of work and available, being able to stay at home with his family etc and because of his previous connections and comments I think it’s understandable that people might wonder just how much he would really be into the project. Of course he might prove people wrong, but it’s a valid concern I think.
I have never heard of the fellaThanks for that, I was just wondering what Kenny Court thought about the situation
I think there's a broader philosophical point in this really, which is has the 24/7 all encompassing football info made us any happier? Maybe people actually quite like having gatekeepers to filter their info? My mum and dad are a small sample size, but they always seem to be a bit more balanced when it comes to Everton related matters.
The small group of Blues I know of my age (60+) aren't that bothered ... wished it was someone else but not getting hot under the collar if you see what I mean.
Possibly by this age, you've been through things that matter a hell of a lot more? Who knows?!

I see that Spurs have called off negotiations with Gattuso because of organized fan disapproval.
I have seen nothing like that at Everton.
I still think that the position is not filled and there are probably at this stage two or three preferred managers and the board is deciding between them.
I have no doubt Benitez is one,Nuno another and there may be others we know nothing about.
I am certain the leak about Rafael was a scoping exercise the more I think about it.
Would 2,800 votes be considered big enough to influence the club?
Imagine the songs that lot will be singing in the derby when they go 3-0 after Rafael parked the bus all game looking for a point. The list of reasons why we shouldn't hire him far outweigh those in favour of.
Exactly, trot on Rafael we do not want you!!Like we need anymore head patting....
Little Everton getting Rafael. Doing us a favour
I hate this narrative around our club
