Rafael is in a hiding to nothing if he comes here. He’ll lose all the respect he gained for winning them the CL and our fan base is already against him. In saying all that he did go to Chelsea who he had also spoke disparagingly about and won them the Europa league, albeit with a far better side then the one he’ll inherit here.

If he takes us bottom half or in a relegation battle he will be an even bigger hero to them

He isn't the best option though. He is divisive it would be warfare between fans and manager and manager and dof and what's more his football is diabolical. It would be another short term appointment and a very costly one.

Who is the best option fella?
(Genuine question)

Amazing how supposed Evertonians are saying they will attend home games to boo a person appointed by the club to manage the playing side of things

During my many decades of travelling to hone and away games to support Everton I have on occasions been unhappy with the performance of players and decisions made by the manager but never have I booed them and do you know why...it is because I am an Evertonian. Call yourselves Evertonians. I wonder

not sure why this is taking so long. it doesn't inspire confidence. i'd love to know who is really pulling the strings.
Might take longer to enquire after candidates who are in a job, less likely anyone would know about those enquiries, they could be waiting to rule someone in or out before deciding anything

Dear Mr Mosh…

Can I have a copy of the job description for the position previously vacated by Carlo please?…

I wouldn’t normally consider myself to be ‘in the running’, but it seems you’re considering offering the position to Benitez?…. So, ‘nothing ventured nothing gained‘ and all that…

Also, is it possible to have a copy of Mr Brands job description please?

I only ask because it would be good to know what my working relationship with him would be if I got the job?

I think I know what a D.O.F is supposed to do, but it would be good to know if you have a ‘different take‘ on this role?

A bit about me;

I’m 52, so (in managerial terms) not too old and not too young - but old enough to remember when we had passion, fight, played good football and won things
I’m not a kopite RS - unlike some on the shortlist
I’m not a big fan of brown shoes (even phenomenal ones)
I can run faster than most of our current squad
I’m pretty confident I won’t get poached by Real Madrid
My wage demands are modest, but I’d like Margot Robbie as my personal assistant please - there seems to be a lot of love for Amanda Holden within the fan base, so she‘ll do if Margot’s not available.

I think that’s about it, but just a closing thought about the current vacancy…. Did I mention I’m not an RS?

And Valverde isn't safe? Opposed to Benitez who would destroy the club from the inside out.
The only thing here that is destroying the club and stop us progressing is the constant change of managers and in that sense ancelotti has contributed massively. Whichever is the manager I want somebody that will stick around and really work on a project. If it's Rafael so be it...valverde is a good manager but not sure he would be the type to stick around especially if all goes well and he starts to get big offers from the big boys.

Managers are overrated when it comes to Everton, i expect the same underwhelming outcome regardless of who we get, therefore not overly arsed either way.

In the wider context of modernising the football side if the club. He's a character that won't mind taking in sacred cows and slaying them. Age and football philosophy is not part of that.
He’s not slaying any sacred cows Dave, and has no intention of doing so.

He’s yet another mercenary who happens to live locally lining himself up for yet another pay day. This is simply an extension of his Shanghai jaunt.

The fact that he has insulted us directly before, yet has no shame in walking in through the doors as our manager speaks volumes about his attitude towards the whole charade.

Fortunately for him he has an incompetent billionaire paying his wages. He’ll stick around for a season and a bit leading us to between 9th-12th and then leave.
