Is it my line?

Yes lets make this decision based on something that has a minute chance of happening.

That what you were after?
At this present time with this present squad we have a minute chance of success who ever they chose, you go on about people’s ego thinking he will turn things around but then push your ego guaranteeing that he is going to fail you or I or the rest of the forum have no idea what’s going to happen bust just hoping upon hope that it turns out your way so you can all say I told you so is getting us no where

I agree in that I wouldn't appoint him BUT thats me saying that as an Evertonian.

If you was the owner with £500 million tied up in a new stadium and a further say £200-300 million probably lined up on transfers over the next 3-4 years - would YOU take a chance on someone like Favre or Potter or a bloke whos won a Champions League, titles, FA Cup, Copa Italia etc.

I personally think he's past his best but I thought Moyes was and he just went and finished 6th with a nothing special WHU.

Im not defending the board but they wont be ruled by emotion like us fans are. Same way they'll never likely give the job to Dunc as for all the pashun he has a nothing CV.

Hopefully we get a suprise and someone else with a decent CV is the real target and its under wraps but all im saying is fans are letting their emotions take over - in reality he's an ex RS manager who called us a small club in anger as he was cryarsing that he couldn't beat us.

He does a lot for local charity and enjoys the area/city - he's not a baby eating nazi like some portray him as lol

If I was the owner of Everton (or any other club) I would absolutely 100% not appoint Benitez (or whoever a rival manager for said club is) because it would be incredibly bad for business. Genuinely it would be the last thing I would do. People keep saying football is a business, well its not a normal business. If I am running a supermarket it doesn't matter if the customers hate me or not because they would not know me. Customers do not protest in other businesses normally. (I don't class Favre as a risk to be honest)

Again, you are not the issue here. Good for you for not being ruled by emotion, are you going to be controlling the thousands of people who will be ruled by emotion though? This is the part where any argument for Benitez falls flat on its face. Nothing else matters, a large amount of fans do not like him and never will, that's it. Tactics, winning stuff, small club jibe, past it, etc etc etc, none of it matters if the fans don't like him.

I am sure he is a lovely fella in real life. Again though its irrelevant.

(Moyes is past it by the way, one swallow doesn't make a summer)

Sod off! I’d literally prefer Allardyce; he’d bring a less negative more exciting brand of football, at least. Only an absolute tool would appoint Benitez!
Well, only Bill Kenwright could find an absolute tool of a billionaire who wanted to play with a football club..

No I don't think you get the egocentric thing.

Its not a case of thinking what will happen, the ego thing is purely the logic that "I am OK with it so everything will be Ok."

It is not intended as an insult at all. It is just insular thinking that totally neglects to take the problematic issue on board.

I am just telling you the truth. I have nothing to gain from doing so, I take no great pleasure in it either. But the truth is right in front of you and you are choosing to ignore it.

A divisive managerial appointment is a stupid move.

Why am I even having to explain this? It's ridiculously obvious! Maybe I should just repost that each time to those who don't get it? It's easier.

I agree mate they'll be thousands ruled by emotion - I just think they'll look very silly if he comes in and makes a success of it and stabilizes the club despite not giving him a chance from day one.

Im the first to admit I can turn quickly on a manager/player but not on day 1 lol
