the delay of Rafael's announcement could be due to the fact they want to include a player or two to defuse any hostility.

I do.

But best can be a relevant term as well. If we only went for the best and refused to put a team out because Messi and Mbappe say no, then we won't have a team. So the alternative best is the best we can get. Not as catchy, not as inspiring, but a tad more honest.

That of course is under the illusion that it's something we live by anyway.
what are you on?

"Everton put eight or nine men behind the ball and defended deep but that's what small clubs do.

"When a team comes to Anfield and only want a point what else can you call them but a small club?"

Doesn't sound like a misquote to me.
Belittling comments for sure but what I find more objectionable is his record of the past 5 years where it's been evident his managerial skills are on the decline

When does the window where we can sign new players, get rid of our crappy ones and sign a new manager open ?!
Asking for a friend ......:coffee:

i reckon they are lining up a superstar signing to be announced at the same time to try and deflect the attention away from Benitez being announced.

Woke up and was convinced Mancini was the guy in charge. Gonna stick a tenner on it. Should swing the odds enough that even Gregg O'Bellwhiff says the fsw is off.
