Exactly. We move to stage two
Nothing is going to happen.
There will be no protests.
Evertonians on the whole are too lethargic and beaten.
The owners, the fans etc are just happy to make the numbers up as that is all the club is really there to do, no point in fighting it.

You either join the party or walk away at this point. I know which one works best for me.

Absolutely not , never , no !
Is your obsession with him alone , or Everton.
He has been here and failed.
Do you see any other major clubs reliably linked with him ? No,
There is a reason !
No obsession with him. I've had my picks ahead of him... Galtier, Favre, Rangnick... None are happening. Nearly every manager fails at some point in their career. I just think he's done an impressive job with Belgium and think he could do well with a DoF and some financial banking.

The thing is though no one does walk do they. We just won’t stop consuming the product. Full house at Goodison every single week, waiting list for season tickets, away games packed out. What incentive is there for the owners to change anything? None. Our predecessors used to vote with their feet, when the club wasn’t going in the right direction then it was shown through low attendances. Now every man and his dog are at the match every week and the result seems and irrelevance to most of them, just happy to be at the match even though they’ve watched five years of utter crap. Each to their own of course, but I can’t understand why we’re increasing in popularity with the fan base as we get worse and worse. I mean what would it have to take for fans not to go the game? I guess we’ll have our answer soon.

It’s the old sky sports argument all over again. Ultimately the majority of people are just happy to watch sky even though they know it’s screwing Everton. They just won’t do without it. Happy to be in the circus rather than moan about not winning it.

Im honestly not that arsed with us these days - must have not bothered watching half of those final 8 games or so of the season last year.

I'll be going next season as I love the matchday experience but im getting less and less angry over the club these days as post Moyes we just have no identity.

People laughed at me when I put Dyche on my shortlist but here's the thing - Dyche would give you effort, fight, pride in your team - he would give his 100% to the cause and demand that in his players.

It may not work out but guess what it hasn't worked the last 7 or so years but with the added insult of a club without any pride!

It's a ridiculous business decision because of the reasons we are both aware of. Which is essentially people overreacting to a business decision.

I understand all to well what the problems are, I've tried to argue for a call of reason. And it may well fall on deaf ears. But it's better to have at least 1 sensible counter post to the alternative, bitter, irrational hatred, where people can't even be honest enough to say what the real reasons for opposition are. I have watched as people have defended the behaviour of using personal insults in the banners, many on here said the people who did it were right to it and it was perfectly acceptable.

The problem is, our fan base will be negative to almost every single appointment, so by your reckoning, any decision we make will be a ridiculous business decision, obviously with differing extents. If they are down to choosing between several bad options, I hope at least they pick the bad decision that is best for the club.

This would not be a negative reaction. Nobody has been negative to any appointment except maybe Allardyce when they first came through the door. People may grumble. In this instance, Nuno would be underwhelming, Potter would be risky but Benitez would be toxic.

None of the posts on here mean anything. We can counter each other on here as much as we like, but you are not going to be calling for reason and be sensible in front of a bunch of frothing at the mouth fuming fans at Goodison are you? You may to be fair, but no matter what it will end up in arguments and fighting between fellow blues from day one.

It would not in any way shape or form be what is best for the club.

I don’t think anyone is saying I’m ok with it and everything’s ok,they will make the decision what ever is said by some and I don’t believe it’s the tens of thousands what you think it is,as you say it may be a few thousand that will be load as the saying goes empty vessels make more noise.
We are putting issues at the forefront before we have any idea what the reaction will be, say it’s hopefully a full house against the saints and we’re 2 up in 20 minutes you don’t think the majority of the crowd will be behind the team, again your saying divisive but your judging it on a forum and Twitter I presume but the match going fans are not all millennium baby’s that make their own minds up and won’t follow the so called mob.
Your minds made up and I respect that over what you think will happen but there’s plenty who believe/ hope it may go the oboists way ,yes we may have pockets of dissent but I believe that will fail gradually if things do go well.
Right I’m off to bed work in the morning will log on tomorrow for day 15 of rinse and repeat of the fable that is Benitez

That's exactly what people are saying though.

We KNOW what the reaction will be, come on! Why even put ourselves in that position anyway?

I am certainly not judging it on a forum, I have been there before, seen it before with Smith in his latter days and Martinez in his 2nd and 3rd seasons. Once a section of fans turn on you you are doomed. They will have turned on Benitez before he even gets there.

Your belief whilst commendable is totally unfounded and not based in any form of reality.

The club and absolutely everybody at the top are entirely thick. They couldn’t spot a good decision in a million years and the best part is they’re clearly stalling Benitez and blindly hoping someone else becomes available before inevitably appointing him then sacking him inside two years. Rinse and repeat with these entirely incompetent lunatics.

Really? They clapped kenwright when he was choking the life out of the club and we hadn't bought a player for 2 years and they clapped allerdyce at his first game when everyone was against him being appointed.

I honestly believe it'll happen.

Kenwright did what needed to be done. He couldn't spend what was not there. That would have been another awful business decision.

Moshiri does whatever he wants by the sounds of it because its "his" club.

(If it happens of course, if not, love you Farhad)
