Can’t be as dour as ancelotti was. As long as it’s effective and we win , I’d take 1-0. He’s going to have to perform better than any manager around at the moment to last till next summer so he’s got that motivation, plus I’m sure he’ll have many clauses for us to get rid if he doesn’t perform without a massive pay off. Even our board aren’t that daft are they?
Hi, I notice that you've been a member on here since 2008 but didn't post a thing until 1st June this year. I just wondered what changed, did something happen to inflame your passions for this great club so much that you just couldn't contain yourself?
On an unrelated note, almost all of your posts are on getting behind Benitez, you are a magnanimous and generous poster, everyone deserves a second chance right?

I mean Benitez is far from my first choice. I'd sooner have Martinez back in all honesty.

But, why are people so unwilling to accept he may be capable of doing a great job with us. Fudging the reality of the job he did at Newcastle, making blanket statements about his time in China etc.

I couldn't stand him when he managed the RS. I was shouting FSW from the stands. But time has passed and I CBA holding grudges 15 years old.

You, the guys and girls holding childish grudges, are the ones making it toxic. He'll just be trying to get success to the best of his ability.

I see you've noted all the other managers bad points, but not Benitez? Strange, coz he is just a mass of bad points.
I highlighted the reasons for failure to recruit the others.

I don't want Benitez as our manager any more than you or the majority of our fanbase, however given the situation it appears that he will be our next manager.

Other managers do exist. In fact any of those above are preferable as well.

There are hundreds of appointments out there which would not be so overtly divisive.

The idea that these managers listed are more risky than Benitez is something I don't quite understand.
We could have appointed some one else .
The point is we are not though.
It's sickening but it's reality

We were all saying “can’t believe Carlo Ancelotti is our manager,” now we will all be saying “can’t believe Rafael Benitez is our manager,” in a slightly different tone. Can’t wait for the next few updates: “Can’t believe Trevor Mcdonald is our new manager… can’t believe H from Steps is our new manager…”

That Donald Trump meme that was going around Twitter the other day, I bet they're in talks with him!

He just doesn't get it, does he mate? Obviously, we'll be winning the world series with "Rafael" in charge. As you have correctly pointed out he has been an unqualified success everywhere he has been. He has never failed and has transformed that Chinese club with more than 20 youth team coaches provided which, frankly, is even better than winning them a trophy.

You got me , I joined in 2008 and have been biding my time for the last 13 years until Benitez became linked with the Everton job! Think my first post was ancelotti leaving? No ulterior motive been supporting Everton since days of snods and Alan Harper, not working at the moment so got nothing better to do

So you think he’s going in the right direction as a manager going forward?
Yes he’s managed some big clubs, but how long ago was that?
does that not give you a clue about the real crux of the problem?

The reality of the job at Newcastle? Joining the club with 10 games left, a game in hand on Sunderland and 1 point behind. Lets not rewrite history, there was 30 points on offer there, he could have - if he was an amazing manager which people claim, keep them up. But lets disregard this, as ok, I can maybe get on board with it was too far gone.

He went down with them and assembled an expensive squad, which should have been promoted, job done I guess. Was the football good? no it certainly wasn't.

Came up and consolidated with the squad to 10th was it.

Whats amazing about that job, poor football and done what he was expected. Didn't achieve above expectations or under perform, was just meh with poor football. Steve Bruce has them around the same too, but I don't hear anyone proposing him for the job. Oh he didn't get backed - he purchased 34 players in his time at Newcastle. They might not have been £40m players, but its stupid when people say his hands where tied.

This is not about grudges, about him calling us small or the fact he managed the RS. its the fact he is a poor manager, who plays poor football on a downward trend who falls out with owners and is about to make us probably have the most toxic atmosphere in the country, an atmosphere which hasn't been great for a while.

And the club expect ALL this to be ok...

its absolutely mental.
