Sure no worries.

I think the board realise there is risk with Benitez, but that risk can be summarized as "Being hated and not accepted by the majority of the fanbase".

Now if you then look at his record and his experience the risk level is low. He's available with no compensation to pay so again low risk
His family are close so there's no living in hotels or missing his family so again the risk is low

So with risk you have a number of choices:

1. Mitigate
2. Accept
3. Avoid

In relation to fan hatred thing. The board don't give a flying one about what we think so they would happily accept the risk given the benefits he could bring. They could avoid the risk altogether and hire someone else - but again each candidate will carry a certain element of risk with them

I like this rational approach to this mate, I don't like the fact of what's happening, but this is a rational approach.

I think the main risk when looking at this has got to be to do with attendance within the ground, especially when pushing for a larger stadium. Attendances go down which would surely have a knock on effect.

I wonder if the pandemic has made the club think this is easier to do as reduce capacity won't show the sheer idiocy of this appointment with footfall.

Fans have every right to be emotional about this imo, you're right though, the board are going to be less so - however with DBB and Kenwright I would have thought the "fan" would have a voice and say he wouldn't be ever accepted which might lead to the above scenario.

Think that's harsh on both Lampard and Emery.

Frank finished 4th and got to an FA cup final and then another kneejerk from Roman gifted Tuchel the Champions league.

Emery went 22 games unbeaten and was a bit unlucky to finish 5th after that mental end of season slump.

Can't see us getting either of them like, but I would be made up with them. Maybe that's the boards thinking? Spread this BS about Rafael and then hit us with an uninspiring manager who suddenly seems amazing after being resigned to the FSW for 3 weeks.
TBH - I would have happily given Fat Frank a stab at the job. However I think if we were talking seriously to another candidate then there would have been noise of some sort or another. Instead its complete silence - nada.

Tells me the decision has already been made. If you then factor in the rumours about the meeting on Usmanov's yacht, you unfortunately come to a single conclusion.

In reality: a warlord-gangster and his accountant.

These aren't classical entrepreneurs: Usmanov was just a regional politician who organised muscle to grab a slice of a crumbling empire, and Moshiri invested / laundered cash from it in western companies.
Wow....hope you've got a decent defamation lawyer on speed dial.

Its would be just typical for us, we all make such a noise about not wanting him, protests, banners, songs etc,

then he comes in and absolutely rips it up and has us flying…..we once again will be laughed at and mocked by everyone.

Lose lose.

After recently relegated Moyes just finished above King Kong Carlo im done predicting what a manager will or will not do unless its a proven dosser like Howe/Martinez.

Got to give the bloke a clean slate and judge him on what he does at Everton - that was the problem with Ancelotti he was bullet proof in the eyes of some because of what he had done with other clubs not what was in front of our very own eyes happening here !!

A "proven dosser" like Howe?

He took his team up four divisions and made them top flight regulars! This is traditionally a league one sized club. he even took a break in between and came back and got them going again.

You love Dyche (I'm OK with that) and hate Howe. Do you have a soft spot for Burnley or something?

"Rafael Phil Kirkbride from the Liverpool Echo welcome to the club what do you have to say to the many Evertonians who are not happy with your appointment as manager?"

"Ahhh you all can ahhh kiss my fat spanish arse" lol
