When? Under Moyes? He didn't have any spending power.
Under Koeman, under big fat Sam, under Carlo. First priority for all of those managers was not to lose. This exemplifies the problem, imo, because interspersed amongst those managers were Martinez and Silva who wanted to play a completely different way. No strategy at the club. Still isn't one. Moshiri just chases names.

I have this weird feeling it's going to wind up being Benitez, everyone will be rightfully peed off and then he'll resign right before the season kicks off leaving us with no manager. Because the only dumber thing this club could possibly do than hire Benitez is start the season with no manager.

Well, that sounds like there is as out of the 4 managers only 1 (Silva) was the high press, modern type manager. The fact we had Nuno on the shortlist too says that maybe the board want reassurance rather than flamboyance.

It's all about time for me. Moyes got time, Martinez got time. None of Mosh's picks have - Carlo was out of his hands and I personally thought he was the one

Someone mentioned club taking their time so fans get used to the idea. Think that's right and probably the best thing to do.

It softens fans up and gets everyone resigned to it. No way they were going to announce Benitez out of the blue. If they're going to do it, this weekend is right time to announce it - gone on long enough now.

Wouldn't have been my choice, but if he's our manager, I'm behind him 100%.
