You've hurt me deeply there Tommy ladlol(No,no,not in that way!!)I've gotten to a point now where I see a poster and just scroll past. Nothing registers.
I'm getting that way with all things Everton too lately.
I only come here to take the piss tbh.
At least there's still a steady supply of complete cockwombles to oblige
You're one of the nice guys. You've hurt me deeply there Tommy ladlol(No,no,not in that way!!)
Rafael's been pushing for the job for weeks and still is. I imagine that's the source of all the media stories
In your opinion. Stories get leaked to press everyday, days or weeks before they're announced. So people get used to the idea. It's basic principle of comms.Announcing him out of the blue would make far more sense from a fume management perspective, I don’t get why people keep saying this. People have literally graffitied the ground today, 4 weeks after it was first mentioned as a possibility and 10 days after it was revealed to be likely. People are getting angrier, not more relaxed. Anyone who has ever worked in comms (or has ever had to make an unpopular decision in life) could have predicted that to be the case.
The major difference for me is that the manager is the public face of the club, he's the guy who selects the team, decides the tactics and takes the plaudits/criticism if we succeed/fail. Even a star player is only one of 11 on the pitch. Giving that responsibility to someone who doesn't necessarily have the best interests of the club at heart is a bigger risk than if that were true of a player. Combine that with the increased tensions between blue and red compared with the past, I never bought into the whole "friendly derby" stuff but pre-Heysel things were definitely more civilised, and it is a very difficult role for a former red. I can't see how it works. There is going to be no slack at all for him.Chelsea fans gave him a hard time etc its bound to happen - the irony is we have had players who became stars Reidy was a red all his family were.....
Johnny Morrissey started on the Liverpool ground staff we pinched him for £10,000 - bill Shankly had a fit as he was on holiday, threatened to resign if they pulled a stunt like that again - Moggsy gave us ten good seasons - no moans about him being a red then....
Sheedy, Beardsley, etc etc every player we signed never let us down...
I know it so hard a former LFC manager - we are maybe clutching straws, but if he fails then he will be sacked like the rest before him .....
Moshiri is quite simply an investor. Most of the 'owners' in the PL are. He will do what it takes to sell on for a good profit at some point. Kenwright had to sell so we could stay in the PL game. It is a global TV show and naturally we as fans are less important. The 'made for TV' goal celebrations, ball that moves like a rocket if you breathe on it, VAR for the American audience etc. It has sucked the life out of it. If it was not Everton I would not give the PL ten minutes of my time.Same, it's depressing to feel like that about something that has been a big part of my life for the best part of 40 years. For all of the PR about Everton being a family club, and I do appreciate how much EITC does in the local community, I've never felt further away from the club emotionally than I do right now. It may have something to do with not being able to go to the game because of the various lockdowns and when it was allowed last year I started going to my local non-league team with my son and I really enjoyed the community feel and lack of sponsors/weird kick off times for TV/millionaire bellends who stroll around the pitch like they can't be arsed. I rarely watch football that doesn't involve Everton on the telly now (I used to watch a lot) and I doubt I'll be tuning in too often for the dirge Benitez-ball that will be served up. The Moshiri era has sucked all of the joy out of supporting Everton. I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose, he just doesn't understand what the club means/meant to us and most likely he doesn't care. Benitez is just another symptom of that.
So you are now saying it doesn't come down to managerial stature. It comes down to having a past association with Madrid. That explains why Toshack, Camacho, Del Bosque, Zidane and Carlo have been given the job on multiple occasions.

Probably lobbying everywhereMakes a change from him lobbying for the Newcastle job back in the north east media.
Too inexperienced as a manager but maybe in 12 months time lolWhat about Wayne Rooney?
Chelsea took Lampard from Derby. Clearly a grooming post for managerial talent. Bring a blue home.
Agreed, in some ways it might be a relief if they appoint Benitez and it gives me the push I need to take a break. I've enjoyed watching and supporting non-league football and might make that my main thing and just drop in on Everton now and again unlike the other way around which is what I am doing now. It'll be easier on my wallet and probably be a more rewarding experience. I'll feel more like a supporter and part of the club than a customer, which is what we are now at Everton.Moshiri is quite simply an investor. Most of the 'owners' in the PL are.
