Don’t worry. Benitez will have his deflections and excuses made well in advance. The losses certainly won’t be down to him, how could they be? At a club like Everton just staying in the league is the objective, and finishing 10th is a ‘great achievement’.
That's what Carlo said of us as well. "I kept them up, this year we were close to doing something but bottled it at every opportunity. I consider that a win".

Alot of talk on twitter justifying his appointment by saying he is a safe pair of hands who will build us and keep us mid table until BMD. But he is short term and will last eighteen months if he is very lucky and results are good. If not he could be gone in six months.

Also why him if we want that? We could have got a younger man with a vision to rebuild us over years. I think the opposite he has been chosen because they want instant results, the expectation of the board will be Europe and a cup run otherwise why bother with a name/cv manager? You don't appoint these people for "stable."

but it's a desert out there. who would you have chosen? (and don't say Roberto Mancini)

So if I give you £2000 and you go burn it/spend it on rubbish thats my fault?

Not having that mate.

As I said very short memories some have. If the money had been spent correctly we wouldnt be sat having this conversation thats down to Walsh/Brands.
Absolutely it's on you. If you gave £2000 to a smackhead then complain he spent it terribly yes, it is on you for not doing even the bare minimum of due diligence. If I decide to buy a construction company in which i know nothing about and constantly override decisions made by people who know what to do in the construction industry, yes, it's on me.

Have them take some responsibility ffs. They are the reason we are in this predicament. They are making an appointment they know is going to be MASSIVELY divisive and for what? What reason can they POSSIBLY have here? Theres NOTHING about Benitez that even whispers "yeah, he'll do good here". He's a manager who is massively past it, plays hugely negative football, falls out with owners and is an odious tit.

Marcel Brands is a qualified DOF mate he's not some crackhead Moshiri picked up from the back of Lime Street on his way to the Liver Buildings.

I’m someone replying to a post you made that I may disagree with but your ok to reply to posts and what you say is gospel without comment, grow up
Read your post mate. You professed to somehow know that i d be glad if he failed so i cud gloat. Just wondered when you attained this mind reading ability.

The board & Benitez need booing & booing hard first game back. They are going to have to work thier collective asses off to turn us fans around. Can it be turned around? I believe so, but we all have our own turning points & for many it's a hell of a long way away me included. Anything other than clear progress towards top 4, a squad overhaul that is obviously better on the pitch playing more progressive attacking football that generates results & genuinely pushing us towards a trophy is failure & everyone at the top will be held accountable & should apologise for subjecting us to the fattest of Spanish waiters if it doesn't happen.
As of now i feel betrayed by my own club. I will support the players, i still have hope, i will cheer them on but it won't be the same. A little bit of love for my club has died today. That's on them. We are no longer one.

And he's not allowed to do the job he was hired for because the owner refuses to let him. Do you not get the analogy about the construction company? I'll spell it out. Moshiri is me buying something I know nothing about. The construction company is football in general but Everton for this point. The person who is meant to know what they are doing is Brands. But if the owner keeps on making bad choices and overriding everything it's their fault.

Who is better qualified then Denise??? she seems to be a target of blame recently or when things are not going well on the pitch.

Kenwright being chairman is just a token gesture, he will not have any real say.

I do agree that in the five years we have not progressed as expected but at least Moshiri has backed the failures of managers with hard cash.

Just a shame we never had a fraction of that cash back in 2009.
Running a charity does not qualify you for running a multi million pound operation.
I know DBB ,not well I must add , and she is a very nice person and good communicator.......but CEO at Everton ......sadly not.

Given the mental fragility and physical limitations of our squad, giving the job to a young coach could result in a relegation battle if they try and get our current team to try and press. Look what happened against Man City when we tried, ridiculously in my opinion, to try and play open expansive football.
