A serious question If I may. Is there any mileage in the Fiorentina rumour regarding FSW? I sincerely hope there is, if for no other reason for payback for stealing Andre away from us. Euro games notwithstanding of course, plus the relief of not seeing The Not Chosen One as our chief, that was pretty devastating at the time.
Er, still is apparently, otherwise I wouldn't still be on about it.

This appointment doesn't annoy me as much as when Allardyce got the job. At least Benitez has won things and can attack if he has the right players. Allardyce has never won anything and is a specialist in dire football.
You get what you pay for with Sam . Like a bog brush . You really don't want to even touch it but when you're up to your elbows in crap...

A lot’s been made of Benitez recently guiding Chelsea to a major trophy, namely the Europa League. Chelsea are a major force, though. Is it really that big an achievement to win a European trophy with Chelsea?

What impressed me were those two La Liga titles that he won with an under funded and un-fancied Valencia side.
They weren’t unfancied, when he joined Valencia they had just been to two consecutive CL finals.
And this was nearly twenty years ago.

Yes but we weren't really in danger of relegation. It was a panic measure from Moshiri.

I disagree there mate. We were in complete disarray. Not just losing but getting hammered regularly with Unsworth crying on the sidelines asking Joe Royle for help. Urgent action was needed to prevent a real relegation battle, where relegation would have been a genuine possibility imo.
