These are strange times. When I met up with my 3 mates (who are long term season ticket holders) last month, they were seriously contemplating not renewing for next season. They had gotten used to not going to the match and found they weren't really missing it. They were all frightened to bring up the subject because they each didn't want to let down their mates. Once one of them brought it up they realised they were all of the same opinion.

How many other fans are going through the same thought process.? Let's be honest, people have probably saved a fortune in not going the game, and the football served up at Goodison last season would hardly inspire people to renew their season tickets. Plus so many games are now shown live.

Raffa taking over as manager may just be the trigger they need to decide not to renew. It will be interesting to see how this pan out.
I bet most of the match going supporters have said that across the last 10 managers we have had and the tripe we have had to put up with but the grounds almost always full, season tickets sold out, waiting list growing, it’s unfortunately like a drug to some we all want to get clear at times but most still need their fix every two weeks or so

Thats where I disagree mate - Benitez like him or not is twice the manager Favre is and his CV shows that.

We all want a fancy foreign manager without looking at the bigger picture - what can Favre do with Siggurdsson and Gomes in the midfield?

We know Benitez can make us tough to beat, can Favre?

Can Favre handle our dressing room of shirkers? He just bolted on Palace last minute crying he aint ready to get back into management whereas Benitez has the balls to go to Chelsea and now Everton despite knowing he'll receive dogs abuse - I know which mentality I would rather to handle this group of players.

Maybe Favre isn't the best example I could have chosen, fair point on that, and I hope you are right in Benitez bombing most of the squad.

I'm Sure Gallardo wouldnt have a problem ripping into the frauds we have, after serving his time, and winning things in South America?

For me he could have been our Simeone.

…it really doesn’t matter how effective Benitez might be, what matters is we are looking to employ somebody who pandered to the Cult by publicly belittling us.

I agree he might be a decent manager, but this is about our self-respect. If he’s a success he still shouldn’t have been appointed. If he’s a failure, it’ll be an almighty failure.

This isn’t about how good or bad he might be, this is about whether he should be appointed. He shouldn’t be a consideration, the club is better than that.

Exactly. Does anyone think he will pander to us by publicly belittling them?

No didn't think so.

All aboard the good ship Everton toot toot

If Gallardo wanted a job in Europe he would have one mate. The blokes a fraud happy being the Deontay Wilder of S.America beating average opponents and being labelled some all time great on the back of it.

I'll respect him if he takes the step up and pits his whits up against the likes of Pep, Klopp, Tuchel, Poch etc.

Haven't we publicly belittled him. By singing derogatory songs about him. He's prepared to forgive that all be it for a massive paycheque. If he delivers success that will be our pay cheque.

Even more so if we are still in the business of handing out contracts that make it fiscally perferable for mercenaries to underperform and get themselves punted.

Im just past that mate - footballs just a job for managers/players these days sadly.
