Depends on whos available mate - I wanted Galtier but lets face it France is a farmers league could he have done it over here with 10-11 good sides all capable of spending £100+ million a summer not just PSG?

Favre - 63 years old with 1 trophy - got cold feet and ditched Palace - do we want that feeble kind of mentality especially with THIS squad of players?

Potter - never won more than 9 league games in the Prem and finished 16th last season

Nuno - had a better Wolves side than ours and a set up completely made for him/Mendes and only finished 7th twice and was beaten by Watford in a big Cup Semi Final

Howe/Parker - Relegated English Martinez's who cant defend

Dunc - massive risk/no experience

Lanpard - couldn't get Derby promoted and had the CL finalists sat in 9th in the table below us

Strip away the candidates and not many excite me. There is no silver bullet, no world class manager, no instant golden ticket we just have to see how Benitez does.

Crying and stealing ya ma's bedsheets and acting like the world is falling down because we've appointed an ex RS manager who's also managed Chelsea & Newcastle is embarassing imo.

By all means if come December we are playing awful football and sat in 11th boo the bloke but from Fixture 1 is uncalled for.
Of the ones available, Rangnick is the best imho. He’s got a good track record, he’s innovative both as a coach and as DOF, his teams play good attacking football, he transformed Red Bull and he’s wanted the job for awhile. He’d be a much better appointment than Beneathus.

A club which is bleeding money while he's lashing sponsor deals at us and other things, Guillem Baguette name dropped him for a reason.

Do you honestly think this appointment happens with a potential stadium being built? I don't.
Guillem Baguette lol lol

Most of the names you have mentioned I wouldn't entertain tbh.

Gaultier would be one I'd look at, Gallardo another and Ralph raginck and I'm sure there are more

Sure there are others more knowledgeable than me who know exciting, young, decent managers/head coaches from around the globe that we could sound out.

We don't need a caretaker type appointment, which is what Benitez is - even if he hits the ground running (or gets the miracle he needs) he ain't gonna be around for the long term.

We are stable and have the chance to look to put in some proper foundations and build to a system, by appointing a future proof manager who can work with the dof model whilst we still move ahead with BMD - Benitez is a footballing dinosaur and a small time appointment.

Palace had more ambition going for Favre.

Rangnick will want to control the first team, academy and Transfers - would probably be good but no way Moshiri and Brands give up influence

It’s a strange one really as to be fair it’s originated mainly from rumours and speculation in terms of Moshiri's original income and the Arsenal relationship ending.

However, with the finance aspect (original wealth for Moshiri) and the sponsorship deals it's not too unrealistic to think he exerts influence over his friend.

The point I suspect is to what extent that influence is: if it's one of support and guidance, more strategic control or Moshiri is a mere front for his old boss.

I doubt it's the latter. It may have started with the former, but with more financial support it may be moving into the middle bracket or that's my bet.
If you think it through Phil, which one of these advises who?. For me, Moshiri is the real brains in this strange arrangement. He's the influencer. The fact that Uzmanov gave him such a big chunk of his business shows how much he relies on his experience and guidance. Yes, as regards wealth Uzmanov is the senior guy here, and the ultimate decision maker. But as regards influence and guidance, I think it's Moshiri who comes up with the ideas and solutions.

Maybe Rangnick doesn't want to come though mate?

It would also mean Brands would have to leave which wont happen.

People also forget not many managers may want to work overseas at present away from their family during a global pandemic that we are still in.

A lot of factors in play at present other than the accepted Everton social media of "Moshiri just wants to destroy the club for the lulz".

If he finishes higher than 10th on less points people will really not be arsed.

They will cos they'll flip it and say he won less than Carlo so we've not progressed.

Just like people did with Carlo, despite getting 10 more points than the previous season and a higher league position.

Any excuse.

You have just done exactly what I said!

"Not everyone is a hysterical clown".

"Why cant everyone be as calm and reasonable as me?" Same thing. Hysterical clown as a divisive comment. So are the banners, so is pretty much everything that will be said from here on out because this is the position we will have been put in.
I didn't say it wasn't divisive. I said it's not a case of half being "for it"

Yep that’s why we should appoint him. He actually knows what he’s doing!
Of the others I’d go with Potter. On XG/XPTS he’d be fifth in PL last season! That shows the huge potential he’s got as a coach. He’s defensively sound and his team play good attacking football they just lack a good finisher.
