If he finishes higher than 10th on less points people will really not be arsed.

As they say it's all relative.

Lesser points means fewer wins, more defeats. Not rocket science. I'd rather not watch Everton fail to win
as many (especially at Goodison) than we did last season.

What makes you think Usmanov has so much influence at the club. I'm not saying you are wrong as I've honestly no idea. Just wonder why you're so convinced.
A club which is bleeding money while he's lashing sponsor deals at us and other things, Guillem Baguette name dropped him for a reason.

Do you honestly think this appointment happens with a potential stadium being built? I don't.

Ferguson's position has delayed the negotiations so I hear. The problem is how to "demote" him and to what position. Certainly Benitez does not want him as his number 2. As they have the bottle to go for Benitez in the first place I am surprised they would hesitate in removing Ferguson. I do not care if Ferguson stays or goes, he job under Carlo the Rat appeared to be limited to making faces on the sidelines. It can't have been boosting team morale judging from last season.

From what I’ve read the ones against it are upping the anti in insults especially since yesterday , and the anti brigade on several post have said that people don’t seem to understand that we are definitely going to fail it’s happening on both sides of the coin unfortunately

So division basically.

The ones against it are firing out angry insults because they do not get how the ones for it are OK with it.

The ones for it are giving smug insults to those against it because they think that being fairminded makes them better people.

In general, not everybody of course.

Still believe that it's a mass delusional bed wetting about the fat Spanish waiter.

I reckon our next coach is involved in the Euros and we're waiting for him to come freem

Mancini please.

I do too. Just hope our instincts are correct.

My only concern is the sheer number of bad decisions since Moshiri came in.

I hope it’s Martinez, but would certainly be happy with Mancini.

No, there are a few Evertonians that see it for what it is, a manager being appointed to do a job, and can't see any positives in getting worked up or trying to make waves about it. After being stabbed in the back by the previous manager, a successful yet supposedly humble and loyal man of great integrity, we just can't get that angry. They did everything they could in appointing a top name to give us credibility, backed him, and were still left disappointed in the outcome and shafted. They now have to make a business decision based on numerous factors we are not privy to, and have seemingly decided that with all the data they have, Benitez is right man. If that's the decision, then so be it.

So tell me, what of these other thousands of blues in uproar. Why is their opinion more important than everyone else's? And what standards are being broken?
You have just confirmed my point.

You can't conceive at least one tiny argument for FSW except "if that's the decision, then so be it". The only one poster on here who really and unconditionally wants him is his mom (@Theoneandonly ).

Others are "He's not my first choice but if that's the decision..."

I’m a bit numb about the whole manager search. Carlo was boss, and although it wasn’t perfect it felt like another year of the right transfers we could’ve made another step forward.

With Benitez being 99% done, it’s hard to look past his connections but equally he’s doing the same (obviously being paid well for it).

There’s a number of managers we could’ve gone for with the likes of Galtier, Fonseca etc all being available. Maybe they didn’t convince the owners?

For all we know Benitez could’ve come in with a really impressive set of interviews, putting any concern of his history to the side and making sense of the mess we’ve been in.

I’ll never stop supporting the club regardless of who we hire. In the absolute worst case we have a manager that won’t accept anything but 100% and doesn’t suffer fools gladly.

It’s the “what if we’re 3-0 down at Anfield and Liverpool fans start chanting Benitez” which gets me!

Pigeon Whisperer would be the best for all concerned really.

If you really want to shake the club up appoint Rangnick, sack Brands, and give him full authority to run the club. He completely transformed Red Bull and his coaching is credited for influencing Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralph Hasenhüttl, and Jürgen Klopp. He’s wanted the job for a long time.
Whats this?

Thats not right. I don't think many at all are "for it" it's just not everyone is a hysterical clown and not everyone wants to get behind banners saying go to hell and calling him a fat C or spray painting the stadium.

Agreed , unfortunately it’s not becoming a debate the Last few days and I think some can’t be bothered on either side of the debate as it’s rinse and repeat to try and somehow score points on each other

I get that some are grudgingly accepting Benitez as our next manager - it's a form of self defense/preservation. I don't think anyone has actually said they wanted him?

Anyway taking all the emotion away regarding his rs past/the small club insult etc, and base the decision on footballing prrformances and his previous efforts at his other previous clubs, does everyone really, truly believe that in the entire world of football management (including managers in jobs because we could actually try and hire one of those if we wanted), benitez is the best option for Everton football club?
