Surely any manager coming benitez or who ever one of there objectives set by there employer is to improve on 59 points and see where that gets us
I think position is more important than number of points. Each season has a different competitiveness so points could be less or more yet position could remain the same. I mean take the RS......they usually take around 4 - 6 points from us each season but only 1 point last season. Same for Spurs. Arsenal is usually minimum of 3 points but zero last season. It is all dependant on strength of teams that given season.

Anyone supporting the Rafael appointment on here?

I'm not in favour of him being our manager mate but at the end of the day I support Everton and if he has got the job then he will be part of that, it doesn't mean I have to like him but at the end of the day if he does well then that means we as a club do well and that's all what matters.

If he works with Benitez he'll have no credibility.

….credibility probably doesn’t matter to him, Dave. He’s working in a very well paid bubble where his effectiveness just doesn’t matter. He thinks he’s important and a few at the club think the fans worship him (the recent vote on here disproves that notion). He’s indispensable to some.

Still believe that it's a mass delusional bed wetting about the fat Spanish waiter.

I reckon our next coach is involved in the Euros and we're waiting for him to come freem

Mancini please.
i wish you were correct, doesnt feel like you are though. calling people who care about who the likely next manager of our club bed wetters isnt helpful though. if you stand by and do nothing and say nothing, we'll be playing in red next as its a lucky colour (v tan did it, wouldnt put it passed our current owner to consider it).

What makes you think Usmanov has so much influence at the club. I'm not saying you are wrong as I've honestly no idea. Just wonder why you're so convinced.

This is my view. He's used as a bogeyman to justify unpalatable decisions. Of course no one is going to get the chance to ask him directly.

It’s a strange one really as to be fair it’s originated mainly from rumours and speculation in terms of Moshiri's original income and the Arsenal relationship ending.

However, with the finance aspect (original wealth for Moshiri) and the sponsorship deals it's not too unrealistic to think he exerts influence over his friend.

The point I suspect is to what extent that influence is: if it's one of support and guidance, more strategic control or Moshiri is a mere front for his old boss.

I doubt it's the latter. It may have started with the former, but with more financial support it may be moving into the middle bracket or that's my bet.
