….for me, it doesn’t matter what his objective is. It doesn’t matter if he’s a success or not. Regardless if he gets 60 points or 40 points, he shouldn’t be our Manager after publicly belittling us.
Having had time to reflect on this overnight, there are two issues that are really at the root of my concerns.

Firstly, if I could think of anybody I would least want to ever manage our club, there are 2 names that spring to mind, of which Raffa Benitez is one. The other is Steven Gerrard. Don't get me wrong, the list of managers I really don't want is considerable too. People like Allardyce, Pulis, Warnock, Pardew, Hughes. But Gerrard and Benitez fall into the unthinkable category.

Secondly, and probably even more disconcerting, is the realisation that our rich owners will basically do what they want irrespective of the fans wishes.

Agreed , unfortunately it’s not becoming a debate the Last few days and I think some can’t be bothered on either side of the debate as it’s rinse and repeat to try and somehow score points on each other
It is indeed.

I did say all this at the start though, this appointment will be massively divisive for a long time. It wont be a case of just getting on with it once the season starts. It will be there until the day he leaves the club and he hasn't even got here yet!

What worries me here is how hard faced the club are being about it.

He absolutely isn't the best option and I reckon 99% of the fanbase simply don't want him. How they go about not wanting him and their intentions if he takes over us is a different matter.
i dont know if you are implying there are right or wrong ways to express discontent

but IMO its by any means neccessary.

Whats this?

Thats not right. I don't think many at all are "for it" it's just not everyone is a hysterical clown and not everyone wants to get behind banners saying go to hell and calling him a fat C or spray painting the stadium.

You have just done exactly what I said!

"Not everyone is a hysterical clown".

"Why cant everyone be as calm and reasonable as me?" Same thing. Hysterical clown as a divisive comment. So are the banners, so is pretty much everything that will be said from here on out because this is the position we will have been put in.

I get that some are grudgingly accepting Benitez as our next manager - it's a form of self defense/preservation. I don't think anyone has actually said they wanted him?

Anyway taking all the emotion away regarding his rs past/the small club insult etc, and base the decision on footballing prrformances and his previous efforts at his other previous clubs, does everyone really, truly believe that in the entire world of football management (including managers in jobs because we could actually try and hire one of those if we wanted), benitez is the best option for Everton football club?

Depends on whos available mate - I wanted Galtier but lets face it France is a farmers league could he have done it over here with 10-11 good sides all capable of spending £100+ million a summer not just PSG?

Favre - 63 years old with 1 trophy - got cold feet and ditched Palace - do we want that feeble kind of mentality especially with THIS squad of players?

Potter - never won more than 9 league games in the Prem and finished 16th last season

Nuno - had a better Wolves side than ours and a set up completely made for him/Mendes and only finished 7th twice and was beaten by Watford in a big Cup Semi Final

Howe/Parker - Relegated English Martinez's who cant defend

Dunc - massive risk/no experience

Lanpard - couldn't get Derby promoted and had the CL finalists sat in 9th in the table below us

Strip away the candidates and not many excite me. There is no silver bullet, no world class manager, no instant golden ticket we just have to see how Benitez does.

Crying and stealing ya ma's bedsheets and acting like the world is falling down because we've appointed an ex RS manager who's also managed Chelsea & Newcastle is embarassing imo.

By all means if come December we are playing awful football and sat in 11th boo the bloke but from Fixture 1 is uncalled for.

And Potter if the press are correct and I know don’t believe everything that written in the press Brighton want 15 million

A club which is bleeding money while he's lashing sponsor deals at us and other things, Guillem Baguette name dropped him for a reason.

Do you honestly think this appointment happens with a potential stadium being built? I don't.
Guillem Baguette can stick his french stick up his arse. lol He knows nothing.

The sponsorship deals haven't been that big compared to some clubs, or even for a club of our standing. They can easily be explained by Moshiri's relationship to the guy.
