Everton primed to announce Rafael just as (probably) Germany score winning goal..

If it goes to penalties expect announcement at about 7.58 pm tonight. (just before the other game kicks off).

I get the impression that people who keep referencing the ‘small club’ comments tend to be people supportive of the appointment.
Whereas people opposed to it tend to do so mainly on football grounds.
Strange that.
It's almost as if they are ignoring the 1,000 or so pages where people explain that they don't want him for a range of different reasons because they have their own agendas.

The more this drags on the more I suspect Benitez is a back up option. The reports, all from journalists he will be have connections with, RBs PR push?

again making stuff up, I joined a few weeks ago because I was concerned about our next manager. I'm not a fan of Rafael, to be honest if it was up to me I would have taken the risk and gone after Potter, but the owner seems to want Rafael, and whoever pays the piper calls the tune. As fans just have to make the best of it
Course mate, you turned up immediately after the "Rafael" links became commonplace completely by coincidence.

Why would we hire a manager that recently relegated Newcastle then went in to semi-retirement in China?

You've got an inferiority complex.

Well I wouldn’t because he’s not my preferred choice. But given the options available to us I can see why the club have gone for him based on him being the most experienced of the lot.

Every manager linked with the job comes with risks the arguments being made again this manager can be made against others.

I just don’t get this notion that we are entitled to have another top manager here like we did with Carlo - who we were very fortunate to get given the circumstances. Who in their right mind would give up the successes at their current clubs to come and work for an owner who dismisses you after 18 months, fans who turn their back on you after a couple of home defeats and a squad assembled by multiple different managers who mostly don’t give a crap about the club.

Given we are being run by two billionaire owners it’s not beyond the possibility that perhaps we tried looking at a bigger name appointment again but were met with a no ‘thank you’ to all?

The two main points that get thrown out by Benitez loving fans.

1) you only don't want him cause of small club comment
2) if you don't want benitez then you must want howe.

Zero insight whatsoever.
