There is potential with Potter. I'd prefer that to a steady eddie. He seems to be a student of the game, a thinker. Someone who might have a vision of where we could be in three or four years, and how to get there. .

People always seem to prefer the continental equivalent of guys like him. But his existing experience in this league would be a bonus. He is worthy of consideration in my opinion. I'd imagine the job would be hugely appealing to him

Thats exactly what this club needs now. Of course there is an element of risk. There is with every appointment. The biggest danger if he ever got this job would be bloody everton fans hounding him out if a few results dont go the right way. The amount of times i watched brighton under him and sat there thinking why cant Everton play this way. When Everton face man city we were waving the white flag before a ball was kicked. When i watched his brighton play them i was like who's spent 500m here. I cant tell the difference. Absolutely no inferiority complex in the teams he sent out. You just sat there thinking if this side had a decent forward line they'd have sown this up.
Give this fella a few years at Everton.
I just fear this club will try and go all glamour again just to please people rather than give it serious thought.

Posting this, for what its worth. Tifo Football uploaded this to supplement that article The Atheltic published last year about the events that occurred around Ancelotti's appointment. Some interesting stuff here and some of it could still even come to pass given recent events..

Whoever we get, I can't wait for their avatar to join our illustrious list of managers drawn by Tifo's master artist. Here is the gallery of legends...

I agree, he'd be seen as underwhelming. If it were to come to pass, a lot would depend on how he talked and sold himself in the first few weeks. I knew little about Moyes when he came in, but his first press conference when the made the peoples club comments, it was transformative. I could see Potter in the same light.

I just can’t help but feel it’s a Martinez kind of appointment, and will the job be too big for him?

Plays nice stuff, but I don’t know, I feel like will go against him. Ancelotti to Potter, a non fancy name, first loss snd hes got everyone on his back.

Hes the only one of the domestic list do far, that I don’t hate, I just feel he’d be on to a beating before he’s entered the building.

I'm hearing Moshiri has let it be known that experience of the Premier League is not an essential requirement. Just top level experience, and it doesn't necessarily have to be in football, all major sports are on the table including basketball and Formula 1.

Ha. Funny but probably nearer the knuckle of truth.

Heard John Parrott is on a zoom call now with Mosh.
