We don’t need to BUILD something, we tried that for 5 years and we are 2 places higher in the league then when Martinez was sacked.
How are we not in a rebuild when we have the slowest side in the league who have just managed to finish 10th with a superstar manager in charge.

We need to gut the side and start again.

The point you’re missing is there is no alternative to that.
People are saying we shouldnt go for Conte because he will leave in 18 months which maybe true. So could any manager. It’s not a reason to not even try he the best manager that’s currently available.
Best example is we been dumped and saying well I won’t go after her because I might get dumped again, so I go after a ugly girl as she less likely to leave and give me stability

If Nuno got Wolves top 7 why couldn’t he get top 4 with us with a bigger budget? Moyes nearly did it with West Ham.

Also Conte isn’t coming here when he has jibbed Spurs for not being ready to win anything. We need to get real.

I would love Poch, but I don’t think it’s realistic, we aren’t that big an attraction at the minute.
Not saying he will come but we may as well try

Its more like we are the ugly fella punching wayyyyy out of our league because we have a little money.

Actually, it’s more like getting dumped but going after the hot girl who you know ahead of time sleeps around AND who you know fancies a dozen other blokes who are all better looking and richer than you… and more specifically going after her in the hopes of getting married and starting a family.

We been in rebuild since Moyes left and we are worse now.

I want Everton to go out and get the best manager they can get and push for top 4

Not get a manager who stabilise the club while finishing 8-12th for the next 3 years

By all accounts Levy was not backing him to bring all his staff with him and probably not offering much confidence in transfer funds and retaining Kane.

Yes but we have something money cant buy, a MASSIVE Kenwright!

Tell you what, if a new manager does come in and dares to do better than Ancelotti, there will be hell to pay on here from the fan club. They will not like it at all, things will get unpleasant quick.

Ha. Possibly.

But we all know that only happens without most of these players.

I absolutely understand the desire to hire a young(er), less expensive option like Potter and NES OR the ones who have more loyalty to the club like Big Dunc or Unsy etc... I even understand the consideration to go back to Martinez or Moyes. The problem with any of those is that when they hit a slump and find the team laboring around 10-15 place for too long....they will be gone. This club has not shown the willingness to linger in the bottom half for too long. And yeah, maybe that wouldn't happen. But it sounds like EVERYONE has no expectation that this team can turn it around quickly at all. All you have to do is look at Marco Silva and Ronald Koeman. Carlo burned us but he was the right (type) of choice because he was going to be given the time to make the changes that needed to be made. I hate the way it turned out, but at least the club took a shot.

We’d improved vs last season overall. Though I’d be interested to know the stats vs the part of last season post-Silva.

But let’s say you’re right, with hindsight, it was always likely that with someone of the profile of Ancelotti we’d be vulnerable to them walking out in pretty short order.

Combine that concern with Conte’s track record (he’s only been at a club longer than 2yrs ONCE in his career, and that was Juve when he was walking the league every season), and it hardly paints a picture of someone who’ll stay to build something with us.

There is a lot of sense in that, but I think the one positive there would absolutely be from appointing Conte would be a recognition that the side is not that far off being capable of winning things. We talk about building projects etc but we do sort of miss the point that a lot of work has been done already.

I mean, had Carlo not overseen such calamitous home form in the second half of the season we'd have got into the CL, even with the dross that infested the squad - bin them off (as has started this week with Walcott et al) replace them with better players and with a manager like him the mentality would probably shift quite quickly. Then all it takes is hard work and keeping it going throughout the season, which is what he almost certainly would deliver (based on his previous jobs).
