The only reason people want Potter is they look at his XG, and cream their pants. XG does not win you points! His win percentage is 25%, what has this lad done which is so exceptional that he warrants getting the Everton job? He certainly isnt out performing Chris Hughton his predecessor.......
Some need to give their head a wobble!
We need to go for the best out there, nothings guaranteed but the chances of success are alot higher than taking one of the leagues basement boys. Da`s on here saying Moyes has a glass ceiling yet want Potter who has never had even a mid table finish. Cant understand the thought process!
good to see 2 buddies havingTo be fair.
He fits the type of manager we should be going for
Unless you want another one here for the money
Maybe he’s the guy we need.
Better than Nuno or Moyes IMO.
However, it’s a gamble.
Even though he’s done ok at Brighton.
Ancelotti was never sold on us.
Defo would be a step up for him.
Yes obviously you have to hire the right guy to lay the platform, but the fear of getting it wrong can't throw the process off.I agree with that in theory but the difficulty has to be getting the balance right.
You may be building Rome , but if all you can offer your first residents is a wooden shack in malarial infested swamp , while you construct their lavishly appointed marble pleasure dome you will likely wind up crucified.
I can't find it, but there is an interview with football kicker Jack Grealish where he talks about it. Does that count?
They primarily want to play for clubs that are already winning stuff and competing in Europe preferably the Champions League. We've still got squad littered with garbage that need replacing with better players....Better players wanna play for better managers. Its dead simple.
I have a love hate relationship with xG. I don't think it's completely useless, but I hate how some of the stats exponents on twitter - especially the efc ones at the moment - come across like they're the only ones who understand footy and everyone else is clueless.I genuinely love to see someone who mentions XG kick a football.
Simple. He’s tenfold better than the other apparently credible names mentioned, he’s a winner, he takes no crap from Mardarse players, he has Premier League experience and has been part of a big project, he’s not Moyes/Potter/Howe/NES/Dyche, he plays attacking football. Other than that he’s got much better hair than the others in the frame. Why?
I mean....these were the lads telling us Iwobi was a good signing based on statsI have a love hate relationship with xG. I’d be happy to wait if we had an agreementThat will definitely take a long time to finish though. He wouldn't be my pick anyway but he's not leaving until after the Euros for sure which leaves us into July.
He’s also the Italy coach and btw we haven’t been linkedSimple. Fans see themselves as these deep football thinkers these days and start coming out with left field shouts about xG and Greame Potter and building a philosophy, like somehow been they've watching seminars through Bielsa's letterbox picking up notes. He sees the whole of the moon maaaan. Graham Potter is the thinking man’s Everton manager.
Maybe, if he actually has a good season where they finish mid-table, or he goes somewhere like Palace and does a job.
"Are you sure that's just your pottery pencil Mr Brands?"
