Yes but are we really expecting Mancini to put his Euros on hold for any amount of time to work on what we need? I don't.
We have a DoF.....I assume he can cover for a while, along with Duncan and a few others. Plus, any manager worth his salt would already know what interesting managerless teams needed to improve on....

The only reason people want Potter is they look at his XG, and cream their pants. XG does not win you points! His win percentage is 25%, what has this lad done which is so exceptional that he warrants getting the Everton job? He certainly isnt out performing Chris Hughton his predecessor.......

Some need to give their head a wobble!

We need to go for the best out there, nothings guaranteed but the chances of success are alot higher than taking one of the leagues basement boys. Da`s on here saying Moyes has a glass ceiling yet want Potter who has never had even a mid table finish. Cant understand the thought process!
I want Potter and I don't give a flip about xG. I watched them several times last season and they play good football, they just can't finish their chances. Totally understand why Brighton fans aren't best happy but I bet if they had a good converter like DCL they'd definitely have more than 25% wins.

Every couple years Potter earns a step up. Went from Sweden, to Championship, bottom-half PL club, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him move up again. I'd rather we took a risk and see how we can do with us, than someone like Nuno who couldn't get Wolves to play any way other than on the counter.

My preferred option is that Porto manager with a 72.5% win rate, but of course that's Portugal so hardly a good measure. Whether he could cut it in the PL is a big risk. There's of course a risk with any manager but I see a lot of potential with Potter.

But you can forget about going for the elite managers. We aren't there. The squad isn't there. We have to build. I don't want to experience another half-assed job then they bail on us when a big boy comes calling again.

We would need to change the fanbase.

Far too many miserable people who have a crap life who take it out on their football club every week cos they failed at life.
They're a fascinating people especially since a majority exude such a paradoxical nature when they believe that the squad is one misstep away from relegation should also be competing for champions league. It's wild

Whoever we bring in needs to be able to solve a number of key issues.

We have a fitness problem. Not only do we always seem to have players on the treatment table but we just don't seem to be competitive in games.

We have an attitude problem. I don't know if its just me but it seems many of our players have a culture of "just enough". Players shouldn't be happy with just a top half finish and too many times it looks like they were content with their lot long before the season ended.

Squad depth. Apart from a few key players we are rubbish. Seriously, everyone likes to rag on Sigurdsson but when he is missing we are diabolical.

Philosophy. Any manager who comes in and utters the word Philosophy should be marched straight back out.

Anyway, with all that in mind it is abundantly clear who we should bring in.......

..... David Moyes!!!!!!

Potter would be eaten alive by our crowd and our players. He finished 16th forgive me I need to see more before we give him the Everton job.

Is 11th with Swansea a better achievement than a 15th in 19/20 and 16th in 20/21? I think it is, plus Rodgers was highly regarded and touted by Jose Mourinho who took him to Chelsea as a youth manager... The rest is history as they say.

What I`m getting at is do you think Potters achievement match that of Rodgers and we should follow suit of the RS hoping to have the same affect? If we are bottom half after 10 games I guarantee the fans will be after him.

The fans would be after him 15 minutes into his first game.
I can only go by what i saw of brighton. Loved potters approach to games. I watched Everton play man city at Goodison sh!t scared to cross the halfway line. I watched brighton play city and their approach from the kick off was yeah we'll give you a game. We aint here to just let you play.
As has been said they so often lacked just a good finisher to compliment their game.
Wether he is or isnt the choice his clear impressive coaching style at brighton and swansea shouldnt distract from him not even being a discussion.

I'd agree. I think he's a progressive young coach on the up, exactly what we should be looking for.

Having seen a lot of Brighton (my Dad's a fan), I'd like to see what Potter could do with a bigger budget and a better quality of potential player to bring in.
