He played for City remember

As a player, he had motivation to top up his trophy cabinet/wallet...as a manager?

I really rate Potter, but accept its a big step up and if he’d be able to handle the pressure in Everton hot seat is still uncertain. You finish where you deserve in the league but every time I’ve seen Brighton play I’ve been impressed with their style and overall approach (the 3-2 comeback against City was a stand out). His buys have always been astute, Trossard and Bissouma are players I’d take straight away. But it’s a massive step up and a gamble. Maybe some sects of our fanbase would see him as underwhelming or vanilla - and I can absolutely see where they’re coming from but I think he could surprise a few
The jury will certainly be out with him but I think he could build something. We’d have to be patient and that’s concerning...how long can we ‘build’?
At this point I want a promising Englishman or a wildcard option (a la Ragnick or Conceiao). That would excite me much more than someone like Nuno or Lampard, with all due respect.

So would Nuno. In fact so would every candidate we've seriously been linked with.

We're actually screwed.
It doesn't help that the board doesn't seem to know what it wants. I get the impression that Moshiri is impatient for success and is prone to making knee jerk reactions.

Its gonna be Steven Gerrard isn't it. At least if he flops we won't feel bad hating on him and if it's a success then it'll make the other lot seethe
