Is Martinez up and coming or is this still what people think Silva was? Because I do not remember it that way.
Silva was in the sense he had youth on his side and never really worked on a big project. You could argue Moyes was up and coming, didn't really work there in the sense of bringing us back to the glory days however he didn't have much financial support so I don't include him really. I'm just saying maybe it's time to let the DoF model play out without interference and see if it works.

Well yes it is certainly time to do that

The main point as anyone but a pedant can see, is that the squad is awful and therefore not attractive to an ambitious manager. Now I understand you say that means my point is garbage, but that's only because you are a pedant.
That’s why I can’t see Moyes coming here either. At WHU he has a blank slate and the skeleton of a good team that he himself has built to an extent.

Come here and Brands will be calling the shots.

He certainly doesn’t need the money any more, and this is likely his last long-term job.

I read that piece earlier. It is the sort of click-bait rubbish I despise.
First they maintain that we've lost out on NES, and provide no basis for the claim.

Then, for a piece entitled "Five managers in the frame for Everton job", goes on towards the end of the piece when you've seen the adverts, to say that the list is composed of managers who SHOULD be appointed.

It's not even student newspaper stuff.

0/10.

There is an air of frustration today. I was a little snippy with a chap earlier myself.

How much is it the manager’s fault and how much is it the players? I would suggest a manager has never actually said “Go out and play with no energy, give the ball away needlessly, defend poorly and do anything but hit the target.”
We really do have some average players. We ( certainly pre Carlo) clearly do not know how to spend money wisely.
