Potter is not an exciting appointment by any means, but I don’t think he’d be terrible in the job

Galtier is exciting just because of what he got out of that Lille squad

If he could do that here then I think we’d all be chuffed
He'll be out within 6 months as soon as a couple of games go wrong and we are a goal down at home.

Also, it's massively incongruous to ignore the context of the teams he's managing. Just saying "15th in the prem" means something completely different if he's managing Brighton than if he's managing Everton or Arsenal or Liverpool.

And you can say what you want about Sweden, but in any league system if you take a team from the 4th tier to the first that's an achievement
Like Rangers?

A lot in here dismiss PL or former PL managers because of their perceived underperformance and dismiss any non-PL achievements because they were in a “tinpot”/“farmers” league.

I suspect many have their pick and are just determined to boo anyone else.

Martínez won the cup, Ronk did well with Southampton, Silva had a boss 5 games with Watford and Carlo won the PL as well as many pots around Europe. Their combined efforts made us pooer than we were before they started.

I’m not a massive Potter fan but I could see the logic in bringing him in. Nuno is a more “obvious” choice given his relative success. Loads of yous want Galtier while simultaneously describing the league he just won as a farmers league.

Don’t really remember what my point is here. Bring whoever in. We’ll Everton them anyway.

come on, they were relegation candidates since they have up.

is this what we want for our club ?

I lived through the years where we were genuinely relegation candidates

No one wants that

If I genuinely thought that that’s what we’d be if Potter was our manager then I’d be dead set against him

I don’t think we would be though

Again, his Brighton side were not shipping goals. Their issue was they didn’t convert their chances, which meant they dropped too many points

If he kept us tight at the back and DCL was tucking the chances away then we’d be fine

It’s not an exciting appointment, but few of the potential names mentioned are

No.

Hairy Putter will lead us to glory! Apparently.

Dyche would have Goodison bouncing - players fighting for every ball, a grocky ginger bloke kicking off on the touchline, direct football from Pickford to DCL with pacey wide players whipping crosses in left right and centre.

Potter Ball would have the fans asleep after Slomes and Siggurdsson pass it back to Keane 500 hundred times a game.
You’re not seriously batting for Dyche, I’m finished with footy if we get him

Yeah. Bouncing straight for the exit.
-22 goal difference.

Give Dyche Brightons players and he would play more expansive football.

Give him the likes of Bardsley & Barnes and he has to play direct.

Give Potter Burnleys players and they would get relegated trying to play expansive football.

The difference between a good manager and a stubborn one.

Conte is not realistic but there must be some good managers out there up for the job.
After the recent Carlo experience anyone shouting for Conte is clearly a masochist! He'd be out the gap as soon as any bigger club comes calling and he'd probably leave a bigger trail of disaster after him. Would be entertaining for a while but would end in blood and tears!

"Potter wouldn't have the same problems with a lack of strikers here because we have Calvert-Lewin "

Lol.
