Conte is not realistic but there must be some good managers out there up for the job.
I agree but we won't get anyone that doesn't carry risk. Even if it was a big name. That's the issue this time around. One of the first questions asked of the man who gets the job is what it feels like to follow Ancelotti.

We are not part of the elite, but we sneak into the top 20 richest clubs in the world list. If we actually had people at the club who genuinely understood the world game, we would have little bother attracting a suitable coach. I still believe we will, because money tends to talk in the end. It's a big world out there. In that world, there is no way that Graham Potter is anything other than a lazy choice borne out of a lack of detailed knowledge of the coaching market across the globe.
Out of interest, who would you give it to?

I must admit the idea of Potter as Everton boss holds an increasingly (morbid?) fascination for me.

Still can't believe his name is being mentioned semi-seriously (or even seriously). It all just seemed to relate to the cranks and WUMs partaking in the Carlo wars during the season.

Fascinating because we'd switch manager profile dramatically. That has an effect on the squad. What would James make of him, for instance?

What profile of player would he look to sign with a good budget? Again, I'd expect a shift in policy. Would he be more aligned to the 'Brands signings' rather than big names?

Would he get time and patience? Or would we just end up with another round of mismatched signings to further unbalance a messed up squad?

So much fun to be had!
Probably be happy playing more passes to players that moved into space and trying to be on the front foot instead of people criticising him for not blocking crosses

Heads all over the place with this, grasshoppering between candidates, really I just think it is imperative a boss is appointed ASAP,time is the essence this window for us,by the end of the week I'm thinking, the one real candidate I have thrown out with the bath water is Benitez, should we really look around the obvious factor and grasp the bigger picture?,"if" we can get past that he is probably the best qualified to take the job, he's available, appears to want to take the position, the fella is also a "lucky" manager, wins pots, if he could win even a League Cup here I would currently take it, we don't have to even like the fella, just let him get on with the task in hand(runs for cover!!!)

Dyche would have Goodison bouncing - players fighting for every ball, a grocky ginger bloke kicking off on the touchline, direct football from Pickford to DCL with pacey wide players whipping crosses in left right and centre.

Potter Ball would have the fans asleep after Slomes and Siggurdsson pass it back to Keane 500 hundred times a game.

Yeah. Bouncing straight for the exit.
-22 goal difference.

True and anyone we appoint needs to have a thick enough skin to deal with it.
