After the recent Carlo experience anyone shouting for Conte is clearly a masochist! He'd be out the gap as soon as any bigger club comes calling and he'd probably leave a bigger trail of disaster after him. Would be entertaining for a while but would end in blood and tears!
I’d love him but like you say, he’s a massive risk. Not worth it if I sit and ponder.

so aim lower and get a f n aldi manager because nobody would want him?

God sake

Be happy with Galtier as well myself. Thought he was definite for Nice but maybe not.

Had a solid record of achievement at two clubs. Lille had a spectacular season by any measure.

Still though, no experience outside of France and carries risk. I imagine his title success would weigh heavily in his favour though if he were up against Potter. That and he isn't English.

Potter ffs! Can some of you just try and remember we are Everton Football Club, one of the founder members of the football league, and one of the most successful, with a rich history. Yes, we're enduring a painfully long barren spell, but we're still an attractive proposition for high profile managers, as proven with Ancelotti. Get a flipping grip.

Give Dyche Brightons players and he would play more expansive football.

Give him the likes of Bardsley & Barnes and he has to play direct.

Give Potter Burnleys players and they would get relegated trying to play expansive football.

The difference between a good manager and a stubborn one.
This is the most insane one yet. Dyche has recruited the team he wants. There are cheaper players who can pass a ball along the ground to a teammate. He's decided he doesn't want to play that way. It is a choice.

He's been there 9 years. If he wanted to play a certain way and sign players for that he's been there long enough.
Less goals to game ratio burnley. Great. Come to Goodison to watch big bowls of lumpy sean dyche porridge full of gristle.
Edge of the seat stuff.

No...not aim lower, aim at our current level fitting our current level of player and maybe get some chemistry going. We are constantly trying to cut corners because we are a big club. Big Club, not so big team, and Conte would be like a bull in a china shop right now. Gut the squad, bankrupt Moshiri and flick a lit match at us while walking away smelling of petrol! I could be wrong of course lol

The oil will effortlessly command both threads

Swansea also sold about half the squad from the PL season and had to rebuild.
I live down here now and nearly all Swansea fans were genuinely fearing another relegation battle after their American owners had asset-stripped the squad, you'd get almost unanimous agreement that they felt Potter did an excellent job until the squad ran out of legs.

I'm certainly not advocating him as the answer, I'm not even sure there is one, but achievements need to be put in context.
