If we are lucky enough to get Rafael, Rafael the gaffa, the La Liga winner, the UEFA Cup winner, the FA Cup Winner, the Champions League winner, the super cup winner, the Supercoppa Italiana winner, the FIFA Club World Cup winner, the Europa League winner and the Coppa Italia winner, at least we wont have to find him a house to live in, all Brands needs to do is buy him a fast tag for the tunnel.
I know mate but I thought we were scouring the world for a new manager not the fkin Wirral

So was Kevin Sheedy, Peter Beardsley and Gary Ablett. For me it’s a completely pointless issue.

I really don't care what Benitez said ten years ago in the heat of battle.

The only debate for me is who is best placed to take on this squad and improve us.

And it certainly isn't him.

If it was Rodgers for example people would be OK with it. It's never about if they played for or managed Liverpool, it's what they did when they were there.

It would be up to us to sell him the project, he said he wants a project, the big clubs are not projects they are win now clubs.. clauses in his contract for proper compensation should he want to leave. Massively back him in the transfer window, if there is a time to break rules it's now, things will likley be changed in FFP soon as the game will be crying out for money to be pumped into it. Uzzy on board we are one of the 5-10 clubs in the world with mad spending power.

It's fine selling a project but if still in year 1/2 the same tripe is being offered up and an already 'there' club come in for him we would be back at square one.

Well surely something could be put into the contract that would make it hugely expensive or prohibitive for him to quit. Obviously CA didnt have anything like that in his contract so the snake could leave literally whenever he wanted.Surely the club won't be so naive again.
I would take Conte all day, he falls out with boards because they dont give him what he wants. So give him what he wants, tie him down to a proper contract and lets see where he takes us

To get that calibre of manager in the first place means the contract is about as watertight as a paper bag. We would have to bend the knee so it's in their favour for them to look twice at it.

I think that's what we've probably been doing. Interview them and then find out what their demands are, move forward from there. Martinez keeps popping up too - not sure what to make of that.
Every time Martinez 'keeps popping up' we should be doing a Whack-a-mole right on his baldy bonce.

Nice guy but I can't go through that Sunderland away at the end again... Some people have short memories...

It cost Chelsea 26.5 million to get rid of Conte.
Good luck with putting clauses in his contract like.
