….a number of posters have highlighted the impact of contract limbo on next season but for me it’s a massive risk in respect of this one.

The mismanagement of this squad is not only in its mediocrity, it’s in the large numbers who are not contracted to be here next season. I calculated SIX starters and TWO from the bench on Sunday who are unlikely to be here next season. In a relegation battle, that could make a huge difference in the margins required in application and attitude when the going gets really tough. I think another club in a similar position succumbed to relegation in recent times.

When you add to that the critical positions of Manager and Assistant Managers, i doubt them going the extra mile on the training pitch and keeping the dressing room onside. I’m not certain but the DOF might also be out of contract this summer.

There’s been little or no transition planning in place and it could be the difference. We have a new owner who is used to flying by the seat of his pants but he needs to quickly address the Manager situation. The Transfer window opens tomorrow and there are no signs of TFG getting somebody in to oversee the mess that our transfer strategy has become.

If they’re not addressing the contract limbo on and off the pitch, they are taking a massive risk.

Some bold points made there mate.

….ha, ha, but it surprised me that 8 of the players we used on Sunday (including 6 starters) are not contracted to be here next season. That’s a woeful reflection of our transfer policy.

I think it’s a major concern in the short and medium-term. It’s like we’re sleepwalking with zero strategy.

….are you suggesting Dyche should now be given responsibility for transfers? It might be a fair shout given the squad he’s been given.
Not particularly i was being glib lol he had pretty free reign at burnley albeit with a limited budget bit nothing too drastic with what Everton has had to operate under and other than Chris wood, trippier and Danny ings he's never brought in more than journeymen players that lacked any real merit like Ashley Barnes ,jeff Hendrick, Jack cork. So yeah that would be a solid move bringing in more technically limited players with no shelf life as they're more suited for the football that only really exists in league 2 or the national league now which is dyche's level

Article in the BBC this morning moyes basically saying I would not manage a team fighting relegation every season
Slightly odd thing for him to say, I think:

"I don't want to be at the bottom of the league and fighting relegation which I have had a few times, so we will see how things go.”
I’m not sure which mid-table side is going to sack their manager and replace them with David Moyes.

And it’s not exactly a fighting mentality he’s expressing. Basically, give me a job without adversity because I don’t fancy that.

Excellent points. Our new Executive Chairman needs to be very executive in the next few weeks, with the support of Dan Friedkin. Time not to plan, but to put plans in motion.

Surely Thelwell and other staff at Everton would know that stance... that is where it will get leaked from.

But he is still here so it doesn`t look like BS at all does it?
Regardless of our propensity to draw games and barely win, I doubt any new ownership coming into the club were going to sack the manager after draws against (then second placed) Chelsea and Man City. The result against Forrest was the disappointing one.
