….a number of posters have highlighted the impact of contract limbo on next season but for me it’s a massive risk in respect of this one.

The mismanagement of this squad is not only in its mediocrity, it’s in the large numbers who are not contracted to be here next season. I calculated SIX starters and TWO from the bench on Sunday who are unlikely to be here next season. In a relegation battle, that could make a huge difference in the margins required in application and attitude when the going gets really tough. I think another club in a similar position succumbed to relegation in recent times.

When you add to that the critical positions of Manager and Assistant Managers, i doubt them going the extra mile on the training pitch and keeping the dressing room onside. I’m not certain but the DOF might also be out of contract this summer.

There’s been little or no transition planning in place and it could be the difference. We have a new owner who is used to flying by the seat of his pants but he needs to quickly address the Manager situation. The Transfer window opens tomorrow and there are no signs of TFG getting somebody in to oversee the mess that our transfer strategy has become.

If they’re not addressing the contract limbo on and off the pitch, they are taking a massive risk.
You would have to hope they already have a plan in place, very strange position for a football team to be in that’s for sure

Slightly odd thing for him to say, I think:

I’m not sure which mid-table side is going to sack their manager and replace them with David Moyes.

And it’s not exactly a fighting mentality he’s expressing. Basically, give me a job without adversity because I don’t fancy that.
I think it’s just him saying he’s effectively retired unless he gets the chance of a top club, which is unlikely.
Can’t blame him , he’s a wealthy man , a respected former manager . He will continue to earn good money via punditry and any possible advisory roles that he may be offered .
Why bother taking on the stress of fighting relegation ?

Yeah, that’s fair enough if that’s where he’s at.

It's a tricky position they're inheriting. With a manager and a lot of players out of contract but uncertainty over which division we'll be playing in. If it was me I would probably go with what we've got, maybe try and get a loan or swap one or two of our out of contract players with similar from other clubs on reasonable wages. If we stay up then you can invest at a higher level. If you go down then with so few players in contract you're looking at young prospects on reasonable wages.

It’s a god awful position the club is in really. Personally I’d imagine they absolutely do not want the first season at BMD to be in the Championship. The best way to protect their investment is to bring in some decent players in January regardless of managerial decisions.

It’s a tricky one given uncertainty over DoF and manager but they’re going to have to do something regardless.

Is that how we gave out contracts? By seeing if they can dance under a bar whilst Moshiri, Kenwright and Thelwall drank out of coconuts with umbrellas in them with Dyche, Stone and Woan played a calypso beat on their steel drums?

To be honest, that squad is starting to make sense.

FWIW I don’t reckon The Bobble will have the foggiest idea what TFG are planning on doing. They keep their cards close to their chest and don’t like anything leaking out so don’t see how he’d know that they’re keeping Dyche on.
I honest hope they ruthlessly stomp out all these ridiculous leaks, it’s kinda fun to hear gossip but it’s an indication of low standards

@The Bobble confirming a few hours ago from what he knows that there is still no plans to change the manager...

Like I said all along TFG aren`t the people you think they are or the people they try and portray themselves as.

Leaving this manager in place is pure negligence.
It's possible that the Bobble has no idea what the Friedkins are planning, I get the impression that they run a fairly tight ship and that they will be far more likely to implement changes overnight that nobody outside their inner circle has any warning of.

As I’ve said these are more likely to be strategically placed US/UK Deep State plants to further embed US interests over here.

With that in mind the idea they will be proactive or do much beneficial to the club is very much a secondary consideration.
Heard it all now.

Everton a pawn at the centre of a geopolitical chess game.

Am done.

Agreed. In the short term his mole may well still be active so things like getting the line up 15 mins before it's officially released might still carry on but you would hope that inside knowledge of the events of the club are a thing of the past now.
