Strange to say, but maybe it would help Everton in the long term to go down. Get a chance to reset the franchise while competing in a league where they are one of the best teams rather than one of the worst. Make over the roster while hopefully doing enough to earn immediate promotion. Look at clubs like Fulham...a yo-yo club for years and now they are solid. Much more common to do it that way than a club like Forest. Spent huge money when they came up to EPL only to narrowly avoid relegation for 2 years. This year they look good, but who knows if that is a flash in the pan?

It really, really wouldn’t.

(1) NO
(2) HELL NO
(3) FFS NO

Trying to convince myself that Moyes is a good option and struggling.

I then put myself in Friedkins shoes. They need to protect their asset half way through a disappointing season where they have just taken over. I imagine they have long term plans of who should come in but would probably need to curate the squad to their needs, something you cant do quickly- particularly in January.

Probably the 'safest' pair of hands is a Moyes type manager that knows the league, can eak out results and can improve players. We desperately ned some pace into this team and I imagine we will make some signings this .January that will help our position.

I just hope there is a succession plan because it still feels like a dour, downbeat appointment which is all we have had for a long long time.

The Championship is NOT an easy league. We played a league 1 team last night and if I was colour blind, I wouldn't be able to tell which one was the Premiership team.

If they appoint David Moyes i will be putting my supporting of Everton on hold until he has gone and I will hate the Friedkins forever.

It would be the worst thing for me to bare seeing him brought back to Everton, I would never forgive TFG for it, also so much of the fanbase hate Moyes and there would be Benitez type hostility.

it’s just not what we need in a time of new owners a new stadium and a new dawn for everybody to get behind, If the Friedkins appoint Moyes it would be the worst thing that any new owners have done.

It's not easy, but there's fairly obviously an enormous gulf in quality to the PL - hence teams that win the championship with 100 points quite often going straight back down and vice versa. The side we have now should be able to stroll to promotion from the Championship, but i'd rather not find out.
