New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

that photo is weird!! Why is the south stand covering half of Nelson Dock? Where is the western plaza? Why is the East stand nearly on Regent Road?
As I pointed out yesterday...
It's a fish eye lens, so the perspective is distorted somewhat. Still, I wouldn't want to be sat near the front few rows.

Was watching another video and it looks like they may have planned, or are able to, increase the screen area all the way round the roof at BMD.

Haven't seen that tbh. The back-tied cantilevers on the side stands might be capable of some extra load, but they're probably not as sturdy at the goalpost trusses supporting the end roof and screens. Personally, I'm hoping that they extend the roofline at some point to give better weather protection (and atmosphere enhancement), as they did at Bilbao. Probably wishful thinking though.

Regarding the rain soaking the first few rows of seats in our billion pound stadium, its all in hand guys. One of these free to the supporters sitting in the first couple of rows...SIMPLES !!

Yes, first went to the Astrodome in 1990. Paid off my ship in Baytown, across the bay from Houston after a 6 month trip. Had a couple of days before flying home, so went to visit it. When you consider what our stadiums were like at that time, this place was absolutely space-age, and it was 25yrs old then! Saw it again a few years later in baseball mode.

Yeah I thought that when I was younger and watched wrestlemania there on tv. Looked like something from sci-fi.

Thanks for the interesting story.

Not sure why people like the stadium we're playing in against United now. It looks horrendous.

Tbf, it's all a bit subjective. I saw Toffee TV's Ped do a quick look around the stadium yesterday, and I think his first 10 words were just "WOW".... he was blown away by it. Similar with the TV commentators, who said it was the most impressive of the three stadia used. It also won various architectural/stadium awards. So, I think it is fair to say that in the flesh, it is probably far more impressive than in some of the images, and in anycase it is difficult to compare a 53k stadium with a 71k+ one.

The lack of symmetry and one largely open end probably jars with some people. The angular cranked corners might also be less pleasing on the eye than the more commonly used curved ones......... (but I could've used all those stadium descriptors to describe BMD). I think the large dark roof may well feel overly oppressive.... but I don't think anyone will get wet, and the ocular closing mechanism is certainly "different"...... plus that oppression might really enhance the atmosphere and form part of that "home field" advantage Meis often mentioned. I'll reserve judgement till I hopefully visit it one day (possibly next year).

That would be the end for me going if it happened, could imagine a lot of others too.

Being near the city centre is important to me.

I agree. If they really solve that short connection with the city centre (new merseyrail station at Vauxhall and these gliders in their own dedicated lanes).... then this stadium won't be near town, it will be in it. Then we're really cooking!

Imagine one day waking up to hear Everton are relocating to a new stadium at lands end.

Oakland Raiders moved to Las Vegas to become the the Las Vegas Raiders. An 8 and a half hour drive away.
I used to like the st Louis rams, until kroenke moved them to LA. The equivalent move for Everton (in miles) would be if we moved to the northern tip of Morocco.

Yeah I'm hoping they do the dedicated road lanes.

I read that they got rid of bendy busses because they don't do corners well,
