New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

There must a clear case against these canopy-type roofs. Obviously you wouldn't want it to look tacky but I've always thought it might be a cost-effective solution particularly so for concerts and events more then football. But then you'd expect them to be more in use.

Fully roofed stadia have been around for a long time.... but they got a bad press, largely for needing astroturf pitches. That's no longer the case and more fully covered and/or closing roof stadia are appearing now. Of course if there's also a movable pitch, it greatly increases the flexibility of the venue for other events..... which improves BCRs for infrastructure investment too. A true planning/investment virtuous circle.

No, the same way no one told you where to park around Goodison.

The difference being people had built up these habits over many years. Come next Saturday you've got 50,000 people finding a new way to the stadium and there doesn't seem to be much information out there to help those who don't fancy a 30 minute walk from town.

There does seem to be an attitude from some of our supporters as well as the club and the council that these things will take care of themselves but I doubt they will. The first few games are going to be crucial for them to learn and adapt things to make it a good match day experience.

If I was driving every home game I would have started researching it a long time ago, done a few dry runs, see what OFFICIAL parking works for me and I would have been ready for the off.
There’s a marvellous tool to use, it’s called Google

You can google car parks and you can google the parking zone. They don't want people coming by car unfortunately for those of us who need to travel by car.

There seems to be nothing set in stone. It's obvious people are going to be anxious after years of having a routine / different options.

The use public transport line doesn't work if you can't actually get home after midweek / Monday games. Or for those who are unable to walk that far
