New Everton Stadium

I asked this about a month ago. Sea levels ARE rising, would absolutely be awful if we FINALLY get our ridiculously boss stadium and have to move in 20 years due to water level being too high..
If and when this happens the Merseyside region would be decimated, much of it being low lying. The subsequent depopulation would probably make the future of any top level side in the area unsustainable.

Seriously how much will a new stadium cost us on the Duck... surely more than 400 mill plus interest?
Well, there's the new mascot sorted......

Although that's what usually happens with all things Everton I can't see everyone standing by and letting liverpool flood. I would expect a tidal barrier and/or a great big sea wall to be built. This is likely to happen long after we've shuffled off this mortal coil though.

Can't believe how blinkered some people on here can be - flooding is the least of our problems - global warming is just a distraction generated by the politicians to hide the Alien invasion and the giant asteroids coming our way (or was in haemorrhoids?)....

Any way..............pass us the tin foil will you sweet cheeks, my hat is getting a bit tatty round the edges!

I didn't know that, but you would have to assume that all involved in the design and construction will be equipped with that knowledge, and be able to mitigate against it. God I hope so, you rely on professionals being competent and making themselves aware of potential issues such as this but as we saw with Martinez' pay-off amongst several other examples, that is not always so.

Haha mate if sea levels were to rise that much in even the next 20 years, we would have much bigger fish to fry than going the football...

Sea levels rise about 3mm a year, say that sea wall at BMD is 5 metres.. it would take 1500 years for it to reach the top

Any way of finding out who has purchased this land? Esk, is it confirmed that we have acquired Bramley and Nelson?

There's nothing new yet on the Land Registry website, see my comments below

Currently Bramley Dock shows on the Land Registry site as still owned by Peel, but it's not unusual for the Land Registry to be several weeks, sometimes months behind on changes of ownership.

Other information of note: Bramley Moore dock was acquired by Peel for £800,000 on 1st September 2006. Interestingly there was a change to the covenants attached to the land in June 2016 - this may well relate to previous usage restrictions being lifted.
