New Everton Stadium

Buried right at the bottom of the "view the latest programme" in the proposed Goodison Park tour on 31st October......

"...Who knows, we may also get an update on the club's future stadium plans"
Can't believe they are taking in bacon butties at GP just to inspect the new cladding?
The update is: there is no update.

Surely they can only design a stadium once they have bought the land?

IF all the "ifs" we have been discussing for ages are anywhere near the truth, then all this land buying, stadium models, finance, etc, would have been going on well before Moshiri actually pitched up publicly.

I reckon anyrate.

To the best of my knowledge there have been several designs made.

As you know I believe the land was acquired on or around 18th August subject to planning permission.

I am expecting confirmation from the club before the AGM in November.

interesting, why not announce it in august though?

According to that brochure, from the stadium summit, Goodison Park is getting upgraded to a 50,000 seater... Although it does say "NEW" under the header "TYPE" while the new stand at Anfield is classed under "EXP" so maybe it just says Goodison as we haven't announced or named the new stadium for obvious reasons... Or we are getting a new stadium at the Goodison site, which I doubt. Also seems the youth teams are getting a 7000 seater stadium valued at 4 million.

So basically, two possible options, both of them ace.

Excellent.

50,000 seater at current Goodison would be incredible.

In my head it would be nice if the 7000 seater stadium was built on the current Goodison footprint. The land isn't worth anything anyway and it would help create a legacy in the area, with the community centre etc also going up.

I'm aware this probably isn't the most practical solution, but would be nice...

Worry for County Road after we leave, can see it being totally neglected by the local government
