New Everton Stadium

We destroyed 3 Grade II listed buildings as part of our stadium development. Planning for ours took about 5 years, it was a very long process. I'm not sure how much of that was due to those buildings though. It was probably also because building big things in London is really hard.

There's also a Grade I listed building that's been integrated into the plans and has been retained.

Didnt you also have a convenient fire that destroyed a company that wouldnt move/accept cash to move, or something?

The more I read about Dan Meis and his work the more excited I am about what he could deliver. He really is at the forefront of stadium design and each of his stadium designs are so individual as he takes a great deal of consideration into the topography of the landscape. The heritage aspect of Everton football club and its standing in the game coupled with the waterfront location that has been paramount in the development of the city, makes his potential design mouthwatering. He is also able to deliver stadia within budgets and in the case of the new LA Rams stadium $400 million dollars under budget of other potential designs.

This is why I think they must have settled on a location as I am sure a stadium designed for BM would look different to a stadium designed for SC and surely he will work on one or the other.

Yes but it didn't effect anything in the grand scheme of things. There was already an authorised CPO in place for the club to buy the property and an exit date for the company.

In that case, we can't build there. No way would health and safety allow 50,000 people to get through one gate. Is it listed, by the way? If you think of it, all it is there for is to stop pilfering. It will be the first time in 180 years Joe Public will be allowed on that part of the Mersey.
There wouldn't be one entrance. Either we get agreement to knock new entrances in, or we put in underpasses.

Oh, that.

Well lobbing all the stuff together on here, plus what I have been privvy to in PMs and another secret place, plus my own view that billionaires usually have a pretty good idea what will happen when they lob a wedge on Red or Black, (y'know), deffo might be on.
Do you reckon mate an application to planning is ready to be submitted or you reckon I'm being silly

I have no idea. But before I spent quite a lot on money years ago on a big extension in a small village with a lot of Grade 1 and 2 listed buildings near me, lets say I did a bit of research about planning permission and that before I sent the formal application in.

Would be astounded if when Evertons hits the desk of some bloke in LCC planning department, it will not be unexpected.
