New Everton Stadium

All the kopites I've spoken to are actually genuinely happy about the prospect of us getting a new stadium. Granted this was only about 4 people...but at least they are real life people in the flesh and not on twitter.

They think it'll be good for the city and are perfectly happy with their own stadium.

I think we need to stop listening to the very tiny minority of bell-sniffs on twitter/RAWK and understand that most people on all sides want this project to move forwards.

I think it's just a matter of time before the dock move is confirmed. Joe Anderson has already said the road that is to serve the Cruise Liner Terminal will be extended all the way to BMD, that's to be announced officially in April. Now there's nothing there at the moment and the council would have no interest in doing that if it wasn't for our new stadium. He said he wants the whole of Liverpool Waters developed within the next 10/15 years and our stadium is the catalyst for that.

I'm just as excited about the stadium as the benefits it will bring to that region of the city.

One concern I have, will their be second thoughts on building new buildings, appartments, restaurants etc next to a football stadium which attracts a considerable amount of scruffs every fortnight?

They're already building just that in Stanley Dock, besides they might be fans themselves who have a multi purpose stadium on their own doorsteps, that's a positive to me and I'm sure I'm not alone. That will be the city centre in fifteen years, that's the aim.

Although I agree, it will never be the city centre, it'll be an expansion kind of like the albert dock.

The Echo arena is a terribly cheap arena.

They should convert that into office space and use our stadium as an arena.

The echo arena isnt terribly cheap at all. It serves a purpose and will continue to, as not all events require space for 80k. There will be plenty of office space in Liverpool once all the schemes are realised, certainly enough to satisfy todays market and allowing for a level of expansion. Liverpool waters will no doubt include thousands of sqM of high quality office space.

Albert Dock is an eyesore !!

Yes it's horrible mate.
