The echo arena isnt terribly cheap at all. It serves a purpose and will continue to, as not all events require space for 80k. There will be plenty of office space in Liverpool once all the schemes are realised, certainly enough to satisfy todays market and allowing for a level of expansion. Liverpool waters will no doubt include thousands of sqM of high quality office space.

Patronising pat-on-the-head crap more like. All the kopites I've spoken to are actually genuinely happy about the prospect of us getting a new stadium. Granted this was only about 4 people...but at least they are real life people in the flesh and not on twitter.
They think it'll be good for the city and are perfectly happy with their own stadium.
I think we need to stop listening to the very tiny minority of bell-sniffs on twitter/RAWK and understand that most people on all sides want this project to move forwards.

'Aww, it's so nice to see your little club get a new home, it's the least you deserve after years of winning nothing. Anfield has brought us plenty of glorious nights and glorious trophies, so it's just so super that you get this little consolation. It'll be great for the city too, not having that ugly tin shack spoiling the view across Stanley Park from our smashing new stand. Well done you!'
Perhaps, but they're able to frame the discussion around the bit I posted. We are such a non-threat, they can easily give us a pass to build a new stadium without fear we will usurp them.Nah...they were just honest level-headed discussions.
Still confident Jacko of positive news on the stadium front? What do you think arevthe significant hurdles Elstone mentioned still to overcome? Board and council must be confident to be speaking so openly about the site at the GM.
Very Confident of positive news, as a percentage, I would say 99.5%. I have no idea when anything will be announced, I'm not sure anybody does at the moment. Would make sense around the time of MIPIM as was suggested earlier in the thread, though not necessarily 'at it' and that would seem to tie in with the estimate of 2-3 months that was mentioned at the GM, but should only be done when everything is in place.
Purchases and planning can be a very, very complicated process with lots of different stages and there are plenty of things that can cause delays, what they are at the moment I don't know and can only guess at. All I do know is that all parties are willing, and a stadium at BMD will suit all involved.
