They are hoping it goes all West Ham on us!!!!!Patronising pat-on-the-head crap more like.
'Aww, it's so nice to see your little club get a new home, it's the least you deserve after years of winning nothing. Anfield has brought us plenty of glorious nights and glorious trophies, so it's just so super that you get this little consolation. It'll be great for the city too, not having that ugly tin shack spoiling the view across Stanley Park from our smashing new stand. Well done you!'
There doesn't seem to be much access for a 60k stadium through that listed dock wall. Hopefully it means they'll have to build underpasses, including underground parking etc.
Why the hell do we need a roof?
so that it can come crashing down on us on transfer deadline dayWhy the hell do we need a roof?
If there's going to be a stadium there, then the dodgy wall will have to come down imo. I don't think they would allow the two to go together. The hydraulic tower looks dangerous and would have been put down if it was a horse. The clock thing is alright like, but could do with a bit of a cleaning.
Nice wall. Shame if anything should...happen to it.The wall is listed im sure, as for the hydraulic tower, also listed, those buildings are an important part of the history of the docklands, something we have to embrace.

In fact I'd like to go record now, for any Liverpool fans reading, that that wall is very dear to the hearts of all Everton fans, and we'd be utterly devastated if it were to somehow be flattened in a freak explosion of some sort.Should get a big banner for it
"Dear kopites, please don't push this one down. Love Everton"

I don't want to get into a big argument, but for the sake of clarity I do think the local authority can still get rid of listed structures if they really want to? If that's not the case, then fine, but it's going to be difficult to have access for 60,000 fans and maintain the wall structure. Personally, I don't find dilapidated buildings that attractive, and that hydraulic tower would have to have a massive upgrade for it to be utilised in any way, as it's been totally neglected for about 350 years.
~£350 million for ~60,000 seats.
Haven't Liverpool just paid £120million for one stand?
