New Everton Stadium

In fact I'd like to go record now, for any Liverpool fans reading, that that wall is very dear to the hearts of all Everton fans, and we'd be utterly devastated if it were to somehow be flattened in a freak explosion of some sort.

But I'm certain that'll never happen, Liverpool fans wouldn't do something that nasty, would they?!
Yes , but what about the Chelsea fans, they have a track record of doing things like that!

I don't want to get into a big argument, but for the sake of clarity I do think the local authority can still get rid of listed structures if they really want to? If that's not the case, then fine, but it's going to be difficult to have access for 60,000 fans and maintain the wall structure. Personally, I don't find dilapidated buildings that attractive, and that hydraulic tower would have to have a massive upgrade for it to be utilised in any way, as it's been totally neglected for about 350 years.

Thing is i don't think Peel would want to anyway, it is an interesting point thou, I wondered if they could move the wall, as in take it down with care and put it up somwhere else, or at least use the bricks for another structure, i dunno. I cant see it being a stumbling block as im sure they can work this out

i think it is possible to modify it, say with the wall to build in more entries that match the original one. Don't quote me on this, just thinking aloud

If i remember correctly part of the planning application for Liverpool Waters at Princes Dock was for extra entrances to be built into the historic dock wall .
The heritage lobby kicked up a fuss but it was still agreed that it would be incorporated into the scheme.
Personally i think the majority of the wall should be pulled down in the name of progress , it was built by prisoners of war (or slaves) and it was intended to keep the general public away from the waterfront.

I doubt even the most horrible Evertonian ( and there are quite a few ) would wish to see the new stadium destroying heritage sites .....I'll rephrase that ..........Only the most horrible Evertonians ( and there are quite a few ) ditto , ditto, ditto

Certainly could have bridges over it? Bridges in different styles from different era's of Evertons existence.

The wall will (quite rightly) remain and will be a feature of the stadium area. Underpasses and/or bridges will be built. I love the idea of the tower retaining the bell, to be rung after every Everton goal.

It would be great but sadly the bell has gone from the tower!! I've been inside it years ago, would be good to turm into some kind of emblem for the club, modern Ruperts Tower.
