New Everton Stadium

For what it's worth i agree with @davek that peel would be just fine without us, but I disagree that building the stadium won't be useful to them and this is why they are open to us moving there. It's like giving the whole project a boost of adrenaline, we go there we will drag businesses with us, which will bring people and so on and on.

They will be fine as far as the company goes but not on Liverpool Waters. Without the stadium that land might stay empty apart from Sound City for another 10 years, there would also be far less talk and real plans with regards to transport links then there is right now. Before the stadium there is nothing else going on around that part of town, once the stadium gets underway watch how other projects are ready to begin, that will also benefit from the transport.
The Howard Kendall stadium is just once piece in a much bigger jigsaw.

I don't know why you're all moaning. Construction began on our new stadium earlier today. In fact, Kenwright has already laid the first foundation stone.

Totally agree, as you said though it would eventually flow from the centre to the northern dock area, be it in 10/20/50 years. Who knows what the value of that land would be worth then. If you have the cash you can afford to wait and see and maybe just maybe it may make more money over the longer term for them.

I'm the same I honestly believe that they would rather take the money now, get the infrastructure in place with the councils and Everton's help and sort the end closest to a water treatment plant in one fell swoop. It should make filling the rest in much easier.

Peel have had the land for years and havent put a single spade in the ground. They need this i reckon. Once one big name, big development goes into the area, the rest will follow. Peel need Everton to go there, get the infrastructure in place & they'll get a queue of investors wanting to stick stuff on their land.

@The Esk can they sabotage the process

Behave yourself, this is the real world not fantasy land.

The flapping on this thread is unbelievable. The move has to be right for Everton FC, it's the biggest decision since George Mahon oversaw the move to Goodison Park, and it's essential that things are done properly. If that means we don't throw scraps for people to fawn over on an internet message board I reckon I can live with that.
